Babylon 5 and Traveller

I don't know, if this has been asked yet: will Babylon 5 see a Traveller Rules Edition? The two universes are so close in technology that it would make a perfect fit. So, will there be a Traveller Babylon 5?

That was a hot question for many folks here.

No, there are no plans to convert B5 over to use the Traveller rules.

However, that doesn't stop them from providing conversion notes, or doing a B5 sourcebook for Traveller, or porting ship stats, or things like that.

There are absolutely no plans to switch B5, just as Conan did not go down the RQ route. That said, there are no restrictions on us doing a B5 book or two _for_ Traveller, so I would be very surprised if we did not at least stat up a few things for the game!

That would probably have to be a WB decision since Babylon 5 is licensed from them in the first place not Mongoose's.

I know, I've got it .... the rule systems are similar with a few significant differences.

I was sort of hoping it too. But, I think a conversion book that lets me play in the B5 universe using MonTra rules is all I need.

Anyway, MonTra might be a bridge ruleset, somewhere in between D20 and Traveller.

Yeah, but "based on" is sort of looser than it sounds... I'm thinking it's going to be more at "compatible with". But your point is taken, it's more likely to smell like CT than d20.
