Yes, please. I'm starting to paint my first minis, EA by the way. A painting guide could make painting a lot easier since I haven't paint any minis before. I don't like existing guides because they are all made for figurines. I'm not interested in painting anything with faces, eyes and such .
I also would like to know, which colours you have used. I'm a fan of the original tv show. I want the colours to be as they were in the tv series.

I learned how to paint minis entirely by listening to experienced painters and with the use of published painting guides. This is a great idea for those new to painting. Especially with spaceships which are much more forgiving to the newbie than other kinds of models.

I voted yes, and I know how to paint but there is almost always something in the books or tutorials that I can pick up. Your never to old or know everything. Now being able to put into practice is another matter. Bring it on.

With the second edition books just out, replacing the ever-expanding spread of books, PDFs, articles, printouts etc etc that comprised the paperwork needed to play the game, it seems like a step backwards to start bringing out more separate books with rules or ship variants in. I don't want to have to turn up to games with a whole bag just full of books of which I'll be using about 2 pages each.

Having said that, I think a painting guide would be a good idea. I don't see the need for it to be published as a book - painting articles, unless they're *very* in-depth, shouldn't need to cover more than a few pages of a S&P issue per race - perhaps a staggered system like the tactical manuals, one per issue? Especially if they were timed to coincide with releases, e.g. "you've just bought a metric buttload of newly released Gaim, here are some ways to paint them!"

(Personally, I think Gaim should be painted in bright yellow and black stripes, and given big see-through wings, but that's just me :D )

personelly i would buy this book in a sec, but one thing i think should be included with it is counters like in the VAS rule book, enough for everyship in the game,

so lets see:
1. Painting guide for each fleet
2. Fluff and background
3. showcase pictures
4. Tactics and hints and tips
5. other assorted guides
6. counters

I know mp said they were gunna do a yearly tie it all up suppliment with rule tweaks and the likes, why don't you combine it all into one, yearly revision book and the stuff I mentioned above, I know S&P is probably the fav among most people but i would rather have it all in a printed book.

Definitely no to that last post, have that shadowqueen taken out and shot now!

I ALWAYS love looking at good pics of minis, even of those from games I don't play, let alone those I do play. So obviously happy to see this. However 'official painting guide' can make some people think that this is the ONLY way to paint figures, like it's laid down from on high or something that figures are only allowed if painted in the official colour scheme. You don't want people thinking that.

So yeah, painting guides are cool, additional fluff is cool, ship varients are definitely cool. just one request; please don't do anything else for Earthforce! they have enough ships, they have more than enough ships, they have so many diffierent ships that they outnumber everything else (OK, exagerating there, but it feels that way).
