B5 ACTA Scenario Deployment

When deploying forces for any sceneario is there any restriction on the direction you can place them i.e. if you want them to be presenting a "broadisde" can you position them during deployment to already be in this position?

Similarly are all ships counted as already being in motion, or can you decide (and/or must you designate) that any ships not moving are so?

I'm thinking of ships, f.ex, deployed in an asteroid or gas cloud, can they be stationary and thus not requiring a SA to stay exactly where they started anyway?

Not sure about 2nd but for 1st yeah you can point them toward your table edge so close that minimum movement takes them off board if you so choose...

You can place them whichever way you wish.

But you do have to use a special action to remain stationary. Remember that you only make a CQ check when you enter an asteroid field, so it is perfectly safe to deploy in it and move within it.

Not sure that passes the 'reasonable person' test. If you are in an asteroid field and move, then you are entering the asteroid field again...just a different part of it. Moving an entire turn inside an asteroid field shouldn't be safer than moving only part of your turn in it.

If we get too literal with the wording then after rolling the D6 for damage you would have to place your ship on the far side of the field, as the rules then state that you then move "through with no problem."

While I allow that the wording is open to interpretation. It seems far more reasonable to read that moving inside an asteroid field is dangerous at all times.
