B5 ACTA rules questions [secundus cruiser&ISA flet rules

Greetings all,

I'm new to the forums so Hi to everyone. I have a couple of rules questions, which I hope to the powers that be of ACTA, can answer conclusively for me. You see it's quite important as these questions will affect an upcoming game; in which I will devastate one of my opponents in my upcoming campaign game.

Firstly. Centauri Secundus battlecruisers have a HEAVY ARRAY, primary armament, and in the rules for planetary assaults, and those weapons that aren't allowed to fire on a planet, the heavy array isn't mentioned. Now was this a rules oversight? [I'm thinking the heavy array may be a particle weapon] or is the Heavy array not included on this list because it is allowed to fire upon a planet? It's just a quick clarification that I could do with.

The second question I have relates more to a different campaign I will be playing soon, and I want to use my ISA fleet, but with some allied ships. We are planning on having a 15 point campaign, and with my 2 victorys and 10 white stars, I'm planning on using 2 more points on an EA ship and also a Minbari ship. I'm just not sure if this is allowed, as the rules state that you can only have 1 FA point on allied ships in games, which I know I didn't plan on using 2 FA points at battle level in one game, but my question is how many CAMPAIGN FA points at battle level can you have on the roster???

Thanks in advanced guys for any and all help.

Richard.

your only allowed in campaign games up to 1 battle point of allied ships per fleet that is moving around so its possiable to take a Morshin to keep your Nials pumping out in 1 fleet and then in another fleet have an Omega leading an ISA assault.

as fleets dont move about this isnt true.
the ISA is allowed a total of one battle points worth of allies in its camapaign fleet, this may be split down any way you wish however as long as it doesnt exceed the battle point.

But keep in mind that the typical campaign is 10 FA points (IIRC) and you're going 15 points. Check with the other players in your campaign and if they agree....

Thanks for the help there guys, I think what I'm gonna have to do is agree with the rest of the campaign players, for the extra point. Just the one point of allies is a nice token gesture to the alliance fleet list; if not a little unrepresentative of the alliance fleet in B5 shows and movies, as the ISA fleet bulks up on older member race cruisers.

Any idea on whether the secundus' heavy array works against a planet; I'm going to assume that no answer is good news until I hear differently.

Cheers guys.

Of course you could do what we did in our last campaign. You get 1 FAP of allies in your original build list, but you can build allied ship freely after the start of the campaign. You are still restricted to 1 FAP of allies at any given battle though.

i think that it should be more than 1 point at battle level, because this rules out sharlins completely, and lots of other ships which the ISA would use in a war. The whole reason the ISA dont have dozens of different ships is because other races help them out in wars etc, especially the minbari, so why can only one point come from an other fleet?

We have come to a relative compromise for our campaign, as we will be playing 15 points FA, so I have decided to pad my ISA fleet out with an Omega class, and a Tinashi class thus not breach the battle level rules. We've also come to some house rules, basically if I'm fighting the EA then I can't use my Omega, and vice versa for the bonehead cruiser.

I just find the allies rules a nice gesture; but incredibly limiting to the ISA fleet. Given that its in keeping with the show that the ISA would have a reasonable number of allied ships; even if they were the older designs, this should be reflected in the list.

We have decided that 25% of the ISA's overall FA points in campaign, can be spent on allies in the roster, but no ships over battle level can be used and only upto one battle point in any one game. We are saying you can also choose from ANY of the allied lists allowed.

To our minds this seems far more reflective of what the ISA was all about in its early to mid stages.

Oh and the secundus battlecruiser performed admirably; blasting the living daylights out of YET ANOTHER narn planet!!!!! YAY!!!!!

After whats been happening in our current campaign with your fanheads mr Centauri Admiral the rest of us have decided that we will start with 20 FA fleets and you can start with 5 FA and no allies at all.

....So there....

Bitter, me....never! LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL.

Hmmmm, funbeast is just bitter coz I gave his brakiri a good pimp slapping, the narn is also similiarly upset because I've taken all of his strategic targets, and gave his fleet a royal jimmying. And lets point out here, that in the second turn of the campaign, it was in fact both the BRAKIRI AND THE NARN, that launched unprovoked attacks on my fanheads!!!lol

I responded in kind and pretty much wiped out all opposition; especially as the EA were allied with me and knew what was good for them!

After that you three bickered and wasted time, allowing me to build up a fleet four times the size of the rest of ya, to my mind thats good tactical and strategical planning, and perfect execution of a darn good narn . . . plan, I meant plan.lol

If it makes ya feel better mr. funbeast, I'll ally with you next campaign, but then the vree/narn will still find something to whine about.
