Awesome news?

With the exception to the Shadow Ship, is there any Armageddon ships I missed (that have models/prototypes)?

I would like to see an ancient shadow vessel model, even if it was just like 1 1/2 the size. Make those big mean shadows stand out more!

Switching the vorlons back to their first ed list with the star dreadnought would REALLY help their fleet as well, I think. Just adding a single selection to a previously empty PL does wonders

Quick query...what does this mean for those of us ordering from the UK? Will we be needing to pay horrendous international shipping fees (or have the UK distributors charge more to cover this), or will IWM be sharing the molds with Ral Partha Europe as they currently do with the Classic Battletech line?

This guy, the Brikovi, I've heard a lot of bad things about, but I *like* it. it fits with fleet design and just looks like it would be HUGE! It reminds me of something too, something out of sci-fi, but I can't seem to put my finger on it. Something that was just monstrous.

I really don't like this model at all. Looks like it was made out a cornflakes packet, box of matches, double sided sticky tape and a few scalextrix wheels from the spares box.

I plan to use the Brakiri and Abbai in an upcoming campaign a friend is planning, and since there is no mini for the brikovi the above list of 'parts' might just be inspiration for a improv mini.

Asssuming that doesn't happen (at least in the short term), one would hope that distributors, like Hobbybox, will be stocking the new minis and ordering in sufficient quantity as to dilute the shipping charges substantially.

Dave

Of the big ships:

I really like the Victory, Vorlon Hv Cruiser and Shadow ship

don't mind: Ka'Bin'Tak (its a Narn ship :) ) but it looks right

Dont like the Neroon or the Aidra or the Amu

Consider really horrible:

Brivoki, Posidodon, Fireraptor (who ate all the pies)

Well, its a cannon ship, HOWEVER, I personally think (and my house rules reflect this) the vorlons fleet list should be Patrol: Fighter Flight, Skirmish: Transport, Raid:Destroyer, Battle: Light Cruiser, War: Heavy Cruiser, Arma: Star Dreadnought. Just make stats for the Destroyer at raid and use the stats for the current ship at the PLs with the 'new' name. This is actually their 1st Ed line up, with the Star Dreadnought as the Armageddon ship. What is a Star Dreadnought?
vorlon_dreadnought_tech.jpg

Thats a Star Dreadnought. Its even been a mini before

Just a small point, the pictures you've posted are of the Heavy Cruiser (just the B5 Tech site has it named differently as a Star Dreadnough, similar to Star Wars, as they made up names for ships that didn't have official names at the time). The Dreadnought (as seen in the bottom picture) is a pretty ugly design actually and just looks like a kitbashed fan design (oh wait, it is!)

Actually not. It's the Fleet Action Dreadnought as sold by AoG. They still have a pic on their page if you look along with the planet killer and Shadow Dreadnought.

I've been following this thread off and on...
Does this mean that the original letter/email this thread is based on really is for real and the minis lines have been saved?

Yes, but it is dependent on Iron Wind making a profit off the line before Mongoose's license runs out. At the very least though it gives about another year or year & a half of model availability which is good, especially considering that the fleet action stuff looks like it might be made available again as well for those who prefer it.

The dreadnought looks crap - too many arms

An ACTA-scale planet-killer approx. 12" across though would be pretty fantastic! :D

At the same scale as the Heavy cruiser, I don't think it would look that bad. I would like it as a bit of a stir to the pot that is the vorlon fleet, and to give them more selection, as I've said before.

I'm guessing the Planet Killer would be on a scale closer to that of the space stations :P

Yes, B5 minis are saved, thanks to Iron Wind Metals

I know it's an AoG design, I was being sarcastic - it's still a kitbash made by fans rather than a brand new sculpt!

Know a guy that comes to our FLGS from time to time who had converted a model of the USS Enterprise (Galaxy class) into a Vorlon planet-killer. That thing was HUGE!!! 8) Had to be a good 15-16 inches across...

Wonder if we can get him to post pics of it... :D

I saw someone here did the same thing, but with an NX hull...
