Avenger and Badger in 2e

I see in earlier threads that a few possible/probable errors have came to light (Falkosi ISD, ISA Nial hull score). I might have a couple of others:

1:The Third Age Avenger's in-service date would rule you out of using it in this period. It has the same one as the Early Years version.

2:The Badger's ISD is 2259+, the same as the Thunderbolt's. Which makes it a bit redundant. Given that the one time you saw them was in a Season One episode ("Voice In The Wilderness") surely they should be available in 2258, and likely a number of years earlier (2250+ ?)

I see that all the Third Age (and possibly Crusade) ships that also appear earlier mainly have their earliest ISD listed. Might have been better to make them 2250+ and 2267+ for the entries on those lists.

Don't want to seem like I'm picking holes for the sake of it, the books are generally very good and I like the changes made in this edition.

the Badger any good? sorry a bit off topic...........

from what I gather (compared to a standard starfury) it has anti-fighter defences, probably a lower dog fight score and missiles?

Dogfight score's the same as an Aurora, but it's slower and has a worse Dodge score. It's got Thunderbolt-style missile racks, but only 1 AD. No AF score, turret guns are why it doesn't lose dogfight points.

Wouldn't worry about going off topic - everyone else does :)

Good question. I think the Badger makes the normal Aurora a bit redundant. I get additional missiles and only loose some speed and have only dodge 3+, that's a good trade in IMO.

The badger fits very well between the T-bolt and the Aurora. It has a little bit of both. If you wanted one fighter type for middle and late EA this would be it. Personally I still prefer to mix and match the original 2.

Sounds like an interesting and viable option for sure!

Cheers for the info - I cant wait for the books to arrive!

We Americans can certianly name him an Enemy Combattant and lock him up for years without giving him a trial if you would like.

Only with enough evidence or suspicion of treason....

And anyway, you'd need to catch me first. Whilst I'm fairly on grid in my current lifestyle, I'd do better off the grid than most.
