I just saw that the Arms & Equipment book has been moved to the OOP sale. Does this mean that there will be a new edition of this book or that this was it for A & E in MRQ II?

It's a shame that it's out of print. I've found it to be highly useful for my game. I'm sure it would be for others as well.
I have to say, although this book was the most editorially challenged, the ideas, gear and mechanics put forth in the book are exceptional. I constantly find myself going to it. It did a good job of offering non-overpowering weapon and armor alternatives that did not involve magic.
If you don't have this book I highly recommend it.

Yes, that's the shame of this book: poorly edited/proofed core material detracts from its value, so fewer people buy it, so no second printing to fix the (easy-to-fix) problems.Cassius said:
And every time this comes up I get steamed again that I bought it sight unseen based on the quality of the core book. I get mad even though there is a lot of good material there.

Well, for me it was. Look through the errata and decide for yourself. I bought it for the weapon and armor tables, the other rules were secondary benefits.Exubae said:

It's water under the bridge: A&E and Necromancy were rocky, but everything since has been solid. FWIW, I just got my Abiding Book today -- having uneasily waived my personal 'no preorders' Mongoose policy so that I could get the limited edition. It looks good.

That said, if I had not already purchased the book, the current $14.99 price tag would be tempting. Plenty of useful stuff...but I hate having to reference two different documents (A&E itself and the errata) to make use of the one I purchased. I am poorly organized as is.

Yes! What I did, and it's a little bit of work but not too bad, was to fiddle-print the errata so it's the same size as the original. I then bought a stick of repositional glue (basically the same stuff as on post-it notes, but comes in the form of a glue stick). I then pasted the errata over the tables in the book.hanszurcher said:

It's not elegant and frustrates me, but it alleviates the two documents problem (which doesn't work for me either).

That is a great idea. I'm normally such a anal-retentive bibliophile that tampering with the text block like that just did not occur to me. Most of my AD&D modules from 30 years age still look like the day I bought them. I'll give the repositional glue a try, hopefully I won't break out in a cold sweat.
