release it with grey boxes where the art will be and update later, then at least we can get it error checked sooner.

Sadly, you’re probably right. I wish they would give realistic time estimates rather than trying to make it sound less and disappointing by running long. This is a common theme with them. And they’ll keep saying “a couple of days” for as long as it takes so we can’t manage expectations.

I still don't see why it can't just be released with placeholder gray boxes if the text is not affected.

I would assume because a goodly number of people consider the PDF to be the product. It's not an addendum to the physical book. So selling them an incomplete product would be problematic.

We had the material back, have asked for sone more tweaks. Really should not be much longer, will confirm release when we are sure...
