Armed Free Trader

Another vote for the 'lined' version...

Tukera Lines logo is simply 2 ellipses (simple 2x major radius) - the smaller one is 7/8 the size of the larger - and three filled triangles - the longest one is the width of the major axis of the larger ellipse (the smallest is about that of the smaller ellipse). Personally, I would 'fix' it by placing the starting points of the triangles on an elliptical curve and making them identical scaled versions...

Could do one up in EPS for you - but probably best (and easy enough) to just do in Sketchup.

And Peter Elson is the Master!

Not had time to sort out the hatches and stuff, may edit the plan to match the design, Call it a RX Trader or something, got the Tukera logo, just will have to paste it to a flatter part of the hull, too much going on the rounded bits. Cleaned the hull up so it should look better...

WOW,
Thank you very much for the views.

It looks like the lower hull will probably be all fuel and landing gear.
It is 2 decks high with a little more for hull thickness?

Just a note for addition of airlock door for crew/passengers.

I like how it looks but, with the red and white from the front it looks like a target. It is a good looking ship I myself like the one with the blue on white over the red and white. Also the ship looks wider from the straight front then the top down view, but that could be my eyes playing tricks on me. But again nice job there and better then I could do as I have no artistic ability.

I don't think the views are reproduced all at the same scale (it's probably the way 'SketchUp' auto-repositions the view-area when the view-point is changed).

Correct I was in a rush and did'nt do each view at the correct scale...

So you want a purple one....

Excellent work here.

If you want to drop us a line (msprange@mongoosepublishing.com), we would love to publish ships like this in S&P - a lot more people will see them, and we pay money and everything :)

The rounded belly is interesting. I always picture it more flat. Not really a criticism, but an interesting detail.

Great work on all your ship designs.

I will second that, i envisioned a half deck below mid-line and two deck high above.

main level -- cargo, crew quarters, airlock, computer, bridge.

upper level -- pass staterooms /lounge, low/med, galley.

forward and aft turret access.

Thanks, well interesting, its kind of gone past the original plans and needs tweaking, so it could be done.
I was about to lower the height, fix the plans and call it a day on this, need to move on. :)

Thanks, BTW she's 43m long x 9.3m height (approx at the highest point) x 25m wide (32 with the scoops)

The plan is 46m Long by 25m, so pretty close!

If I add space for avionics/sensors - pull the bridge back ( or shrink) it should be very close...

Then I can move on...... argh undercarriage, hatches ....noooo

That's still the most awesome ship building i have seen.
keep up the good work.
whats the next project you will move onto?
Thank you!
Once more, this time with the Imperial Sunburst and undercarriage...

Hmmm not too sure whats next... though I have two I'd like to try...

Hmm, I'm not sure about those landing-gear struts... the skids are OK (simple, but OK).

You might want to invest a bit of time in designing a more interesting one. You could then "component-ize" it and use it again and again. It would probably be time well spent.

This might explain a bit:

Looking at them they are awful, yes the Nostromo ones are nice... its sat aboved by desk, just wasn't so sure... No time to fix the plans then look at them or not...
