Armageddon rules.

Hey.

Having read a good few posts and ramblings about armageddon addon i guess. Anyways what i would like to know is were and when did these come in to play? also are they offical to use?. I cant really find anything for the extra ships part from a few chaps that down ship control sheets for them.

armageddon was the previous update to CTA sky full of stars. It is now defunct since the release of 2nd ed (officially) though some players still use them. I think it came in 12-18 montsh back

having looking at the rules were like centauri didnt have ion cannons and stuff. Would it be ok to use both types? not in a tournment but just general gaming?.

it's just a case of house ruling if you want to use older ship stats. of course the beam mechanic has changed since Armagedon, and the anti fighter trait has come into existence (amongst others)
If you use armageddon stats, you may wish to use the full ruleset that goes with it. In Armageddon the centauri were one of the finest fleets available, with relatively few weaknesses.

Ok, i wont bother with the rules then. Just stick to the 2nd edtion rules but i dont like that centuari have so short ranged guns :( played a big 3 way 5 battle EA, Minbari, Centuri. me and ea ganged on to the minbari i finally got to lay some major fire on the 3rd turn and with a scouts help to lower the stealth i miss with like 12 weapons lock ons needing fricking 4s to lock on.....(dies horriable death) :oops:

well range is your weakness, as well as poor rear arcs I guess, but close up, some of your guns are quite brutal. and you do still have the Suluust, and the demos with some longer range weapons.
their has been many a discussion about the range of centauri ships. but in general you have good speed and maneuvreability, as long as you can reach your opponent, you can usually start blowing chunks out of them :-) If it does continue to be a problem, maybe discuss with your group a house rule for centauri beam range increase. If you are not enjoying yourself because you die constantly, then its in yours and your opponents interests to make a fairer game for yourselves.
 
Yea, your quite right but a battle laser range increase wouldnt go without a miss :lol: mayby 24 inches wouldnt be so bad.
 
give it a try, but if you suddenly become dominant, you know it's a tad too much ;-)
