Anyone wanna sell me a Nike?

Banzai

Mongoose
Hello, new guy here. Just getting back into wargames after almost a decade off. Lots of EA:EY and CA on the way.

I'd LOVE to have a Nike, if anyone has one to sell me.

Thanks,

Tom

I contacted Chris Yu a couple of months ago about the Nike BCs. He said he was out of stock, and was waiting for enough new pre-orders to warrant a new mold.

He hasn't contacted me since, though.

Sorry? Nike? Isn't that a ship from Honor Harrington?

You mean HMS Nike, the battlecruiser Harrington commands in The Short Victorious War. I forget the hull number and class designation...

Well, there's also the Nike Class BC commanded by Henke in At All Costs

Have you tried the guy who makes them: http://www.studioadvent.com/nike/index.html ?

Yes, emailed multiple times over the last few months. I have yet to recieve any response, so I figured that he's out of the business and I figured that I'd try here to see if anyone had one to sell. If anyone knows how to get in touch with him other than through the link on his web page, please pass it along.

Hi all,
I'm not 'out of business' or anything...creating and selling the mini was a side project. That said, a new batch is on the horizon but it has been tough making time for it (kid + one on the way + a business can do that).

I've also drifted away from ACTA which doesn't make it any easier. So, if you've contacted me regarding Nikes, I do have your emails...it's just a matter of making time for another batch. Can't say exactly when that will be though...

an family can costs a lot of time....i know this.
and the work... leaves only a little bit freetime for hobbys.

hope we can see the nike in the future, again.

PTW,
Thanks for responding here with an update for us all! Active duty military and 3 kids of my own, I know exactally what you're talking about! How much "pretty please, with sugar on top" is it going to take to convince you to come out of casting semi-retirement?

Same as it takes to get a Good Conduct Ribbon, Banzai. And don't forget:

"It's not who you know. It's who you..."

You mean the "Congratulations, you didn't get caught doing anything we could prove this tour" award!

Time and patience, and plenty of both!

Sometimes it's who you know. Sometimes it's what you know. All too often, though, it comes down to what you know about who you know!!

banzai you must be a sailor like me. whats your rate

Aviation Electronics Technician, Chief Petty Officer, assigned to Fleet Readiness Center Mid-Atlantic, Site Oceana. Providing intermediate and depot level repair services primarily for F/A-18 A-F models. I'm the LCPO in charge of Avionics Division Production Control.

Looking for orders for sea duty now, probably going IA in country somewhere for a year, then to sea on a flat top for another two. Options are grim, but I hit 20 in January of '09.

What are you up to?
