Anyone remember Terrahawks?

Hopeless

Mongoose
Been thinking about a small warship design and wondered what if its beam weapons were different types of drones resembling the balls from Terrahawks, i pictured 15 equivalent of long range laser cannons on each side normally hidden under armoured plate that shifts forward to protect the bridge whilst 3 drones at the back of the ship acting as heavy lasercannons with the ability so at least 1 has an unimpeded fire arc especially from rear attacks.

I figure a few missile launchers usually sandcasters and a few point defence batteries along with some kind of magnetic grappler ala Star Trek Enterprise...

What do you think are drone lasercannons ala Terrahawks feasible?

Just wondered whether that would be doable in Traveller a ship with drone cannons capable of short range flight under certain conditions and more importantly scare the heck out of any fighter or attempts to board the ship!

Just remembering the spaceship version from Terrahawks and wonder if that's feasible should I create a thread discussing that series as well?

Reading a couple sites for Terrahawks, the Zeroids are high intelligence anti-grav combat drones. Traveller doesn't have technology for altering a machine's mass (to black hole levels!!). The Zeroids are the infantry of the show carried on the Battlehawk along with Battletanks. I'm not sure if a drone who's main fighting ability is ramming targets is effective.

There are spaceborne vehicles on the show, the Big White One described as a " combination space-dreadnought/aerospacecraft-carrier" and not much more but its purpose seems non-starship. The smaller Spacehawk is space capable but seems more for orbital defence and the surface to orbit Treehawk is pretty much simply a shuttle, all other vehicles are candidates for the vehicle construction rules.

Particle Accelerators, laser lances, Marauder 'machine cannons', Stingwing missiles are the weapon systems for both vehicles and space craft and have Traveller equivalents while Zeroids are robotic troops rather than weapons per se.
