Anyone bought any Parsec Power Fusion 3D Models

As anyone bought any of these...http://www.powerfusion3d.com/home.php?cat=249 I have had a mixed bag with Seeker in the past with promised going nowhere. So, I was wonder if these were any good?

Haven't tried them - but they do look interesting. I ran across them when looking for chair designs for my latest desk - they had a cool ceiling suspended one with console hanging above (though I don't see it now).

Do you have particular app support and models you are looking for?

(P.S. - Handy direct link here for those not wanting to copy/paste.)

They are really useful, my stuff is littered with them! They are great for creating quick interiors, ships or scenes when you haven't got the time or the inclination to model up from scratch (cheating really ;). And good fun just to play with too.

The ships in these are made up of Powerfusion parts:

And most of the consoles, screens and seating in these:

Their vehicle parts are good too:

I'd recommend you get the items which contain lots of parts and you can get to be a bit creative with your designs.
I always had good service from PF3d and SGS, whenever I have had download problems or lost passwords (a frequent problem) they have sorted it out straight away.

my goodness where has this been all my life!!!

may have to allocate some funds towards these.

sorry for being a complete noob about such things but how do you use them?

Well, I'm a 3D artist and I use them in some of my creations. I put them together in my 3D programs, drop them into a scene I created, render, render again, and again, and again, until I get what I am looking for. Then I bring that image into photoshop, play with it some more to get it just right, or to what my client's want and off it goes.

I take requests for images. There is a small fee involved, of course but, you get a great image that you can use in your game. If you want something for a book or a gaming system then that is a different discussion and a larger fee. I do character renders as well. If you or your players have a favorite character or bad guy or ship or scene I can create an image of it and send it off to you or them. The group I play with love having a image of their characters.

So i take it you need to be a 3d artist with all the right programs to make use of this, and isn't a copy and paste job like i am hoping.

Sorry to say that it is not a copy and paste type of set. However, if you need something done let me know. I might be able to help.

That's all I can say ATM!

No info at all except "something interesting is happening?" That's a pretty poor tease...

How's that Solomani Ships TA coming along, BTW?

I think it'll really happen this time! I've got the finished book sitting on my disk.

Uh-huh. And I guess you did all the work that you did for it for free too?

Even if it did happen, it's too little too late. MGT is what most people who play Traveller are playing nowadays and is where their attention is, not T20 - and last I heard this TA didn't even have MGT stats for ships in it, so what use is it to anyone playing Traveller now? And, IIRC, its release still wouldn't complete the TA subscriptions that people paid for years ago (and those people are getting copies of it sent to them, right?).

As you know, T20 ships are pretty much CT-compatible, which means they'll easily transfer to MGT.

I would hope that most people are open minded enough to judge new products on their own merits, rather than writing them off without even seeing them.

Heaven forbid that QLI should actually make an effort to produce something that is 100% compatible with the current Traveller system that most people are playing. There's no excuse not to do so - the MGT rules are OGL and available for use, and you're just cutting yourself off from a big market for no reason if you don't do that.

You'll have to get the product out there for people to see to start with, if you want them to do that...

I'm not saying anything about its quality at all, I'm just saying it's been promised literally for years, has already lost its main contributors because they weren't paid for their work (and I gather that you aren't being paid either, despite the fact that you re-did all the graphics. When did publishers become charities?), and in all likelihood won't sell enough copies to be worthwhile - particularly when you factor in the copies to subscribers that won't be generating new revenue, the fact that it doesn't have MGT stats to start with, and the fact that MGT doesn't have anything set in the Solomani Rim yet.
