Any update on when S&P will return?

Being worked on right _now_, hoping for a release towards end of June, but there are quite a few bits and pieces to work through!

Good to hear, will it still be done as a Kickstarter?

An interesting idea - hadn't thought of that...

I actually thought that was the plan after I saw the other KickStarter thread here in the S&P section. :)

I see some rather average projects in KS getting funded to insane amounts of money. Setting goals for various levels of investment should be a breeze for you guys with so much to offer.

Why not do a kick Starter aimed at fuinding S&P for one year. Set an initial target of what it would cost to do a bimonthly issue and then have a goal that would boost that to a monthly magazine.

Rewards ::
- A - :: Free next copy PDF
- A + :: Free next copy (Print)
- B :: Free One Year subscription (Print)
- C :: B + Copy of Book XYZ
- D :: B + Complete set of books from setting XYZ
- E :: B + Your Character Theme in the next Mongoose Book
- F :: B + Your miniature concept as part of the setting of your choice
- G :: Store Special - 10 Copies of every issue
- H :: Store Special - 10 Copies of every issue and 3 copies of every book in Setting XYZ
- I :: Store Special - 10 Copies of every issue and 3 copies of every book in Print.

Just some thoughts :-)

That's an interesting idea.

Mantic Games just accessed vast piles of cash with their Kings of War battle game on Kickstarter.

If you can tap into something that people want and offer sufficiently enticing rewards, Kickstarter can work well.

It needs to be publicized, though. There are quite a few gaming sites now that attract attention - Beasts of War, for instance. I have never seen any Mongoose stuff promoted on there. I think contact needs to be made - whether for an S&P Kickstarter programme, or just to promote the company generally.

Steady there, that would require sicking to deadlines and that is not in Mongoose's remit.

If it was Kickstarter funded then it would perhaps allow Mongoose to source the actual work load to a third party to get the work done to a defined schedule. They can then continue to focus on the core products and have a company manage the production of S&P

At the moment, we are running with the A Call to Arms Journal as a game-specific replacement for S&P. If it proves successful, we will continue it for other games.

Too bad. We have good RPG interest at our store for the Mongoose games but none in the miniatures game so A Call to Arms Journal is of no interest to our customers.

Would be good to see the return of a traveler journal, I still have old TAS mags around somewhere.

Though to be honest I fail to see how you aim to relate the success of a journal based on your miniatures, to the potential success of a journal tied to rpgs.

But I imagine you know your customers better than me :D

Cheers

Chris

Being honest, we are _flat_ out at the moment with various projects. That said, we have two promising new recruits in the office right now and, once they have settled in, a new Journal will be one of their tasks!

Could somebody from Mongoose email me with information on how I could get an official Lone Wolf mag. started. I have been tossing the idea around in my head to get one started but don't have a clue on where to start.
