Any news on the fleet boxes

I don't quite get this - I thought the lost box was squadron not fleet boxes??

I can see if you have ordered both (and not had the individual squadrons) it would delay but not if you are just waiting for fleet boxes which I guess quite a few are :?

I take it the LE Command Cruiser is some distance away?

I think the implication is they had to use the models that were going into the fleet boxes to fill the replacement squadron order.

No, it will be going out at the same time as the Fleet sets - we re-modelled this ship ever so slightly and it is being putting into moulds, well, as I type!

So for the UK the ETA is ?

So let me get this straight; a package, containing Squadron Box mini's went missing, this prevents Fleet Boxes from being shipped, we are to wait "a few days" unless the package can be located. Date is marked for future reference. Just to be a bit of a jerk, you do realize that next week = next month?

[rant]
So to recap:
14/12/11-The books are in stock and we have a tiny number of Squadron boxes. We are expecting more squadrons, single ships and fleet boxes next week.
15/12/11-Quick warning, we are seeing more orders from, well, everywhere (!) than we had guessed - the Fleet Boxes are currently running a little late but we are working hard to correct this.
29/12/11-All Federation, Klingon, and Romulan fleet sets will be sent out before the end of January - and I say this to cover ourselves, as it is my intention to have them sent out a lot earlier in the month. As I said above, we'll get you more precise dates as soon as possible.
It is our aim that in 3-4 weeks time, these teething problems will be far behind us and we can then spend time exploring the universe of Star Fleet and all the mysteries it contains.
04/01/12-Just to let you all know, all orders for Star Fleet rulebooks in the US and Canada have either gone out today or will be going out tomorrow. Any remaining squadron box sets will be following over the next few days, then the fleet sets.
Once more, apologies for this, but we are starting to move things very quickly now.
05/01/12-However, we are currently on course with our casting and all production issues will be fixed with ships in plentiful supply before the end of the month.
10/01/12-"Any idea when the direct blisters will be going out Matt?"-(Cyporiean). About the same time as the fleet sets (so, starting in less than two weeks!).
11/01/12-The guys are now working on squadron sets, which are being dispatched throughout this week. Fleet sets start next week.
13/01/12-We are working on them now, you will certainly see them before the end of the month (and hopefully a good deal sooner!)
20/01/12-Mid-February (though pre-orders will have theirs much sooner), keep watching for an exact street date!
23/01/12-If UPS can find our package (see other thread!), they should start going out end of this week/beginning of next. If not, may be a few days behind that.
[/rant]

Well, I have some good news. It looks like our package has been found and is being delivered today. If it gets here this morning, everyone who has ordered squadron sets and are in the UK will see them in tomorrow's post (if you are further afield, it is going to take a few days more, obviously).

Which means we don't need to divert production to replace them, so work can proceed unabated on the fleet sets.

From next week, there should be little to no delay in orders of squadron sets. I will let you all know when fleet sets enjoy a similar status, but it will not be long now (to explain, the increase in staff and casting equipment, after an amiount of prep work, is just starting to kick in).

Thanks Matthew and well done for bringing a very enjoyable 'enterprise' into my gaming world. I'll happily wait for an excellent gaming system supported by great looking models. I can buy crap anytime and have enough other interests to keep me breathing for now! Looking forward to having a chat (customer avalanche permitting) at Crusade.

What about those of us in the Old Colonies? I thought the castings are bing done in Ohio, so do ours go across the pond to England only to be sent back to the US-of-A, or will they be shipped direct from Ohio to us and if so what does that different time-table look like?

Well at the moment I am happy – Just got an e-mail that my second Squadron Box - Klingons is in the post. I am taking this as a positive sign and a good indication means I won’t have to wait much longer for the Federation Fleet Box (and Federation Command Cruiser). :D

I surmise that the blister packs won’t be too far off – I only have two blisters on order (Ramius-class Battle Frigates and the Ortega-class War Destroyer (I don’t expect to see the Ortega till late March.))

Can we get a solid gold promise we'll be getting fleet boxes in February? I've held off buying a ticket for the tournament until I have models in my hands, and I thought I'd be spending Christmas painting so I had completed fleets ready for post new years gaming.

Needless to say all that's happened is I've had time to go over the rulebook with a fine toothcomb, which I can't say has filled anyone with joy.

Why a solid promise for February? We had a solid promise that would would have the models in the second half of January:
All Federation, Klingon, and Romulan fleet sets will be sent out before the end of January - and I say this to cover ourselves, as it is my intention to have them sent out a lot earlier in the month.

Here it is, the end of January and I don't have any models, nor does anyone who ordered only Fleet Boxes, and they will not start shipping the Fleet Boxes until end of the week or next week...so look at end of February at the EARLIEST to have your Fleet Box in the mail at this rate.

This of course is after Matt said it would only take a few days to ship out all the Squadron Boxes and that the Fleet Boxes would go out after that. Turns out that the Squadron Boxes took a FEW WEEKS to get shipped out and still have not completed shipping the pre-ordered Squadron Boxes.

*posted on 11/01/12 so the week Matt said they would start shipping would have been last week.

I don't see any promises being made there or elsewhere. There's a 101 things that could cause further delays from the time Matt posted that, especially since it's their first foray into resin.

I don't think that anything can change the fact that NUMEROUS errors in the book coupled with the absolute disaster of the "launch" of the model line at this point it is crystal clear that this game was "released" with about 4-6 months of development still needed. This has got to be the most disorganized mess of a game release I have ever seen in 30 years of gaming.

Whoever gave this the go ahead for December should be fired. This game needed allot more work and preparation.

After seeing the 4 pages of errata and FAQ to print out and go with my book to constantly reference. Now I can honestly say my interest is waning in this game as a whole.

I think I am done. I may come back if all of this crap ever gets straight. Or I may not. At this point I just want my money back.

4 pages? You call that too much?-) Plenty of companies out there who produce faqs and errata's that amount up for a lot more...

Ah exagerated whining. You just got to love it.

For those of us who ordered multiple fleet boxes (one each of both Federation and Klingon, for example), will said boxes be shipped individually as they are completed (I hope for this one) or will they both be shipped at the same time?

We always ship as soon as individual items are ready - we won't keep your order waiting because of a delay in one item.

Looks like someone's thrown his starships out of the pram! More seriously, I genuinely don't understand how people can get so worked up over a game of soldiers, or starships.

I won't name other companies as I'm not into 'company bashing' but I've seen loads more issues over errata and FAQ than I've seen here. One set of historical rules that became popular at my club actually collapsed because the ruleswriter changed 'interpretations' in online discussions, so it became difficult to know what the latest ruling was without trawling the forum. As for the Errata/FAQ, the greatest complaint about these from people I've gamed with is the issue of just how long it takes even 'major' companies to deliver an errata/FAQ. Can't see that as an issue here.

Maybe I'm just easily pleased.

Maybe it's the fact that 25 pages of rules and ships has 4 pages of errata and clarifications, along with the fact that the mini's and rules were set to release nearly 7 weeks ago? Or the fact that the errata significantly alters some of the ships?
