Any new updates on 2300AD?

Emperor Mongoose
Been waiting for this for a while, but how long before the new edition gets a green light?

Also/
a) What should we expect from the new edition in terms of content? What's new? What's different?
b) Will it be Kickstarted?
c) I've asked this before, but I'll do it again, will it be stand-alone from Traveller core?
d) Aside from the advertised supplements, what support will it get? Will we get some boxsets (kickstarted again) or some major campaign releases?
e) Will it get miniatures or electronic support?

Ta for any info.

Hey there,

I will answer what I can!

a) Previews are coming, but it will be easier to get to grips with, flow smoother in play, and look a lot nicer!
b) No.
c) The Traveller Core Rulebook will be required.
d) We are indeed looking at an extended campaign.
e) No miniatures planned, not sure what you mean by electronic support.

I know that the ruleset author for MGT1 and MGT2 in Fantasy Grounds is a fan of 2300 so it is likely he will want to include it at some point. So that is at least one avenue of electronic tabletop that's likely to be covered. :)

Thanks! what I mean by electronic support is things like Fantasy grounds, online maps, and character generation programmes.

Fantasy grounds, traveller map, rpgsuite, etc. are all third parties. Doubt they would commit to anything before seeing the product and its popularity.

There is a lot of hobby software that doesn’t make any money. PCGen is a good example, it’s a free, open source, pathfinder (edit: and dnd and star finder) char generator that has all the books, entered by volunteers. And I mean all the books (edit: at least for pf, which i have used it for).

I think not having the rules yet would be the main obstacle to a lot of hobby projects.
