Any Deus Vult Plans?

We would certainly like to.

I am itching to describe the main rival factions of the Order within the Church, and let players use characters from them - chiefly the Inquisition and Witch Hunters.

However, we should perhaps extend the current material first, with setting, equipment books, etc. And yes, the Holy Lands really do need covering.

We also ought to get around to sorting out the second novel too...

The things you describe sound very good - actually better than what I was hoping for. I'll buy it (them?) as soon as available.
One sentence that leaps out of the page though is "We would certainly like to." Now I know I have a tendency to read too heavily between the lines but that suggests a desire but nothing committed.
I don't know how this stuff works, but as a thought, if it's a bottleneck on source material you could always start a thread on the above citing a list of contents and looking for contributors.. And if it's a bottleneck on publishing costs then a pay per download pdf could always be considered.
Ok, to be honest I think the pdf route is very down market compared to the excellent build quality of the hardbacks (RQII, DV etc) but new Deus Vult material by pdf is is better than none at all.
Any idea of likelihood of this happening?
And timescales?
 
We'll be making some firm decisions about Deus Vult closer to the summer - got a few other projects to get out of the way first.
 
Guess all we can do is cheer to show the market and interest is there to help you with decision making in the summer.
 
Agreed, I love this setting, it has a lot of potential for campaign development, such as exploring themes that introduce maybe a nemesis order/organisation that are preparing the way for an 'anti-christ' figure, with characters being slowly drawn into a web of lies and deceit.

Some material that explores more the idea of using known 'real world' artifacts that could be used in the battle against some supernatural powers, perhaps these 'relics' are so jealously guarded against that half the plot in a campaign centres on 'liberating' the items.
 
Completely agree on all the posts so far, I am loving DV more than any RP experience in years (even Cthulhu Tech!!!).

In my opinion DV needs some more source books and as the others above I think the focus should be The Holy Lands. Having read thomas asbridge's books on the crusading years I feel this area/time has more potential than any other real life setting ever!!!!

An expansion of the Relics and Saints etc would be useful, though this information (saints) is freely available online. Personally I think the African idea is interesting but I would rather a source book on the Northern or Iberian "Cursades". The north would be particularly interesting due to the level of "heretic/pagan" activity.
 
Nice one, Matthew. Good to hear there are more books being considered. It seems a setting with a barely scratched surface so far.

And 'second' novel. What happened to the first?...
 
Excellent! I missed that one. Was their publicity in S&P?

Any chance of the novel being available as a print on demand publication? I maintain my old-fashioned sensibilities in that I like to hold a book in my hand.
 
Hey I didn't see that book - just eyeballed it on the link, looks like being woirth a read. I'm going to order one.
Anyone know if a second novel is confirmed?
Or maybe it is awaiting decisions in summer..
