Any cool in game moments lately?

Cosmic Mongoose
Just wondering if any of you have had any memorable moments lately. I had a beaut today. We played a five person, 3pt skirmish each, rescue scenario today. One of my demos had just been mauled by a whitestar (1 damage point left) and the narn player pounced on it to grab some easy victory points. Anyway, a ka-tan targeted it with an e-mine, and nothing. Then it was my shot. I had moved right next to a sho-kos in the movement phase, and so I let it have it with the trusty ion cannons. After shooting, dodging, working out the 6-6 crit, the little narn ship was at -32 hull!!!! It went boom, and took the demos with it, and since nobody had shot at it, nobody got the victory points.

Couldn't let those grubby Narns brag about destroying my ship, could I. If anyones going to blow up my ships it should be me.

Not so much a moment, more a shortish battle. I've been playing a Third Age EA Vs Brakiri campaign (currently paused until my new Centauri get built, painted or delivered- delete as appropriate :) ) and one of the missions on the last turn was Space Superiority. Due to other commitments and damage the Brakiri fielded a single Tashkat against 2 Hyperions, a Nova and a pair of Olympus', thinking that they could easily nail the larger ships with the Tashkat's 10AD beam and easily shrug off most of the EA fleets return fire as long as it kept them at long range as long as possible and used CBD when the beam was charging. Couple of turns in when the Olympus' get their first clear line of sight they hit it with multi-warhead missiles and nail both the bridge and engineering. Two turns later a second volley from them knocks out it's interceptors (feedback) and causes a fuel rupture. The Tashkat makes a beeline for the nearest neutral base edge and gets several more criticals courtesy of Hyperion's laser. Then the Nova and it's Badger flights catch up to it and shred what's left of it, with an Olympus finally blowing it to bits with railgun fire (huge amounts of XP :) ). Not a good day for the Brakiri, great one for my Olympus crews.

Not nearly as epic as the two before me, but we got one of the old AoG players in a small 3 pt Raid game. He played 3 WS1s and the other guy played Drakh with 2 Sa'dravash and 2 Ria'stors. The fight lasted four rounds, with complete annihilation of the Drakh... and the ISA lost a combined 9 crew.

Couple weeks back, one of the players in the game I was running rolled a 6-6 crit with the antimatter torpedoes off a Z'Takk. He then proceded to roll four more sixes for the damage, for a total of 75 damage off of one damage die. It's just too bad he decided to target an Apollo, instead of the Warlock.

Did that with an Apollo to a Nemesis. The Nemesis was illuminated by a scout so I could re-roll misses. I got three crits, one of which was a 6-6, rolled the 4 sixes, then two more for the crew. Then to prove my dice weren't loaded. I picked up two more dice...and rolled two more sixes. Then another and finally I broke the streak with a five! My opponent did not accept my offer of dice exchange, i.e., he could use my dice and I'd use his.

The offer still stands, dag'karlove. :D

Oh, and as an epilogue, six shots from the forward missile racks de-crewed a Dra'vash.

My avatar was made in honor of that ship, the EAS Texas.

I had a game of DIlgar vs Shdaows 7pt battle. A shadow vessel came out and cut the engine off my Mishakur dreadnaught. It then drifted across and the shadow ship came into front arc next turn and opened up with just buckets and buckets of dice that just couldn't seem to stop rolling 6's (with the triple damage thing) and just disintegrated the shadow ship in one barrage to explode. Just a great cinematic image.

Sorry. I'm still stuck on my game out in Denver with Dag'Kar's crew back in late Feb when I managed to skin-dance a Light Raider with a ship the same size and kill it...

I've recently painted up some Centauri and have been trying them out in recent weeks. And a few weeks ago I had a game against a friend who's just gotten into the system, using my Crusade EA.

I had a Primus, an Elutarian and 4 vorchan vs an Omega, an oracle and 4 Chronos. On the first turn the Omega boresighted the Elutarian, and a 5-6 Crit took the boor ship down to skeleton crew right off the bat. In return the Primus fired the laser back, hitting 9 times, doing 7 crits. the most notable took out the fore laser.

Payback is sweet.

I played TGT yesterday (Early Era EA vs. Dilgar) and was *extremely* lucky all the way through...

TGT had 3x Omelos, 2x Jeshakar Vae, 2x Jeshakar Tae and a Garasoch (all fighters were Thoron Toprpedos).
I had 1x Explorer, 1x Nova, 4x Rail Hyperion and 2x Olympus Gunship (All fighters Tiger Starfuries)

TGT won deployment and 1st turn initaitive, and concentrated his squadroned Omelos' fire against my Nova, who's interceptor crews were reduclously accurate! They shot down over 1/3 of the Dilgars salvo (out of about 28 combined missile/bolter hits, only about 16 got through, including shooting down 5 bolter hits out of 6 while needing 6s!). Between that and CBD, the Nova only took about 22 dmg and 26 crew, and was still fully functional.

Second turn, I won initiative, and after we moved I fired my nova at multiple targets to minimal effect. TGT then opened up with his Omelos', that had all Closed Blast Doors, destroying the Nova and running down the interceptors on one of the Hyperions a bit. Then one of my Olympus' beams was directed at the centre Omelos and managed to only hit once... however, it was a crit and took out his special actions.

After a Hyperion took a bit of fire from one of the Jeshakars that ran down the rest of it's interceptors, my second Olympus opened up on the same Omelos again, causing 8 hits and 2 crits, one of which was a 6/6 that caused an additional 28 points of damage (@_@) bye bye Omelos *BOOM!* the blast from it's explosion destroyed 7 of his nearby fighters and damaged both of the other Omelos' in the squadron...

He then fired another Jeshakar at a different Hyperion, causing the interceptor crew to earn their money yet again. In return, another of my Hyperions fired at his Garosoch, hitting 4 times and blowing out all of his front guns with yet another crit, before it had a chance to fire once!

We played one more turn, but nothing as dramatic happened there... just more flukey interceptor rolls from me and the loss of one of my Olympus' in exchange for destroyng a second Omelos and seriously damaging the other, a Jeshakar and the Garosoch. We called the game at that point... I give the victory completely to my dice for that one, my admiralship was solid, but nothing spectacular and TGT played his fleet well. Saying that, it was an *extremely* dramatic game and followed the B5 history line pretty well ;-)

I remember fondly a Liati being fired at by two full Digar Penticons - and with a Maximus and on CBD took minimal damage sailed through the fleet and with its support ships took the fleet apart.

Not a moment as such, but used my new Centauri against some Narn at 7 pt raid. Had consistently good rolls. Every 5 AD weapon came out at EXACTLY 5 hits, with 1 bulkhead and 2 crits. Every Narn shot was just below average. EVERY 1 shot e-mine missed. Ended up with every ship in my fleet with about 50% damage and only 3 Narn ships escaping.

5 point Raid, Crusade Era EA vs Centauri. I don't remember the fleet comps precisely, but I was playing the EA. Knowing that my brother, who plays Centauri, can't resist using pack tactics, I burned his biggest ship out of the sky in one round of shooting. Granted, I know I got lucky, because that kind of thing generally doesn't happen when using the EA. If I remember correctly, I had a Marathon that did a number of nasty crits to the Centarui's weapon systems.

Did demo game of 5 raid point, two raid ships, a Skirmish selection and some potrols... I had one Artemis take out three ships and they all exploded and that took out seveal other ships in turn for his kill count of 5 Centauri ships and 1 friendly, this was turn two first ship of mine to fire.

Also did a bigger bash latter in the week with one war ship and two battle ships, 3 player game, my first opening shots all crited, two gave adrift results and the other was just extra dmg.... by turn 4 things turned and earth died in a large expl

I feel for Rimmer, i recently lost what passes for my ACTA campaign book, not got dice rolls in it, but game notes for most of the games I've played.
