I played TGT yesterday (Early Era EA vs. Dilgar) and was *extremely* lucky all the way through...
TGT had 3x Omelos, 2x Jeshakar Vae, 2x Jeshakar Tae and a Garasoch (all fighters were Thoron Toprpedos).
I had 1x Explorer, 1x Nova, 4x Rail Hyperion and 2x Olympus Gunship (All fighters Tiger Starfuries)
TGT won deployment and 1st turn initaitive, and concentrated his squadroned Omelos' fire against my Nova, who's interceptor crews were reduclously accurate! They shot down over 1/3 of the Dilgars salvo (out of about 28 combined missile/bolter hits, only about 16 got through, including shooting down 5 bolter hits out of 6 while needing 6s!). Between that and CBD, the Nova only took about 22 dmg and 26 crew, and was still fully functional.
Second turn, I won initiative, and after we moved I fired my nova at multiple targets to minimal effect. TGT then opened up with his Omelos', that had all Closed Blast Doors, destroying the Nova and running down the interceptors on one of the Hyperions a bit. Then one of my Olympus' beams was directed at the centre Omelos and managed to only hit once... however, it was a crit and took out his special actions.
After a Hyperion took a bit of fire from one of the Jeshakars that ran down the rest of it's interceptors, my second Olympus opened up on the same Omelos again, causing 8 hits and 2 crits, one of which was a 6/6 that caused an additional 28 points of damage (@_@) bye bye Omelos *BOOM!* the blast from it's explosion destroyed 7 of his nearby fighters and damaged both of the other Omelos' in the squadron...
He then fired another Jeshakar at a different Hyperion, causing the interceptor crew to earn their money yet again. In return, another of my Hyperions fired at his Garosoch, hitting 4 times and blowing out all of his front guns with yet another crit, before it had a chance to fire once!
We played one more turn, but nothing as dramatic happened there... just more flukey interceptor rolls from me and the loss of one of my Olympus' in exchange for destroyng a second Omelos and seriously damaging the other, a Jeshakar and the Garosoch. We called the game at that point... I give the victory completely to my dice for that one, my admiralship was solid, but nothing spectacular and TGT played his fleet well. Saying that, it was an *extremely* dramatic game and followed the B5 history line pretty well ;-)
