Well another Wargames Tourney and another face off with Gregs "Crew" :lol:
An altogether enjoyable day in which I managed to play against no one that came up with me but my fellow travellers all managed to play each other :lol: Only downside was lack of time for a pub visit afterwards and the M1 turning into a parking lot!!!
My fleet:
1 x Omega
1 x Nova
3 x Artemis
1 x Olympus
First time using 3rd Age in a tourney and a respectable 3rd
Playing against Greg's Early EA in my first Game and things got close, with honours being very close although I think I edged it once I blew out both his Oly Gunships and his normal Corvettes, once more my Artemii were worth their proverbial weight. I came out of that with a 15-5 Victory after losing my Nova & Olympus compared against Gregs Nova, 2 x Gunships, 2 x Corvettes.
My Second Game was against the ever cheerful Da Boss and his dayglo Centauri 1 x Liati, 1 x Balvarin, 1 x Corvan, 2 x Demos and the ever present Maximus. This was a fairly straight forward game (allegedly it was space superiority) with both myself and Da Boss essentially going for it, although his obsession with my Omega proved to be his undoing s the Liati closed scored some light damage and was then pounded by every ship in the fleet until death (2rnd kill I think) after that it was a case of cleaning up a heavily damaged Demos (gotta love multi arcs and fighters). The last ship to die was his Maximus weathering 2 rounds of fire before finally succumbing.
My last game was against Paul (I think, apologies if I have that wrong too much Lucozade) :lol: and his evil evil Vorlons, this was a straight annihilation and thats waht happened his 6 transports & 1 destroyed succeeded in baltting my EA sideways and it may have been a mistake for me to have concentrated on blatting his transports and leave the Destroer as a target of opportunity as when it came to the end 3 Artemii were just not enough to handle that bad boy :lol:
Altogether a most fun event again and once I figure out how to put pics in you'll all get to see the faces of the 2 motley crews :lol:
