And how about Conan?

In the latest plaenet of the gooses, Matt talks about how great Traveler is because of some of the books that let you pull togather an adventure on the fly. As I was reading it, I was thinking yes I love those books to, so how about a couple fopr Conan.

At the end, he comments about how to do it for RQ. And again, I say-----Dont forget Conan. i would love big book with basic city stats. And a big NPC book. And a Patrons book. So how about it? Anybody else intersted in that sort of thing?

Yes, I'd love to see that if the stat blocks are kept out of the book, as a pdf only.
I don't want two third of it taken by stat blocks with an error in half of them that would anyway result in a huge pdf errata.

A book full of NPC statblocks would really suck. :x

I agree that it takes ages to create a well rounded NPC by the book, but I'll hate to see hundred of good Conan roleplaying pages wasted away by useless numbers that even the D20 fanboys would complain about because of the numerous errors. Most of the books published so far have already about one third of their contents being statblocks and I think this is largely more than enough.

It's real Conan stuff I want, not pesky lists of numbers...

But you dont use d20 at all right? So of course they have no use to you. But for those who do use d20, they can be a great time saver.

One of the things I loved about DnD minis was the stat cards. Almost like haveing an extra monster manuel.

Books withh blocks of stats and tables are pretty uninteresting. Especially when you consider that a good percentage of it would, inevitably, be broken. Cities of Hyboria is my least favourite supplement, and I cant say I would ever refer to it for inspiration. Stat books seem pretty retro to me. Its ok, I guess, for something like Traveller, as its a pretty simple system.

Id dislike it for RQ too. All the Worlds Monsters? Hardly classics of the genre. And I never felt like I was missing out by not having copies. Even Plunder and Runemasters were just pandering to peoples lack of imagination.

The idea reminds me of the worst kind of Judges Guild supplements.

You sir are dating yourself. I have all of All the Worlds Monsters, and all the RQ Judges Guild stuff. And a fair bit of thier DnD stuff, including City State that they updated for 3.5.

In fact, if I had not stumbled over Conan I would be running a Wilderlands of High Fantasy game right now.

Ive thought that the Wilderlands setting would be GREAT for the Conan rpg, would it not? In fact Wilderlands is THE most used world for my fantasy campaigns. Just the geography, of course, changing the names is a must in certain places.
