An Immediate Ban on the OTU - Effective 8.11.08

[humor] After seeing so many threads here and elsewhere turn into bloodbaths about versions and canon and canonicity, I believe everyone will best be served by an IMMEDIATE BAN on all OTU stuff, discussion, products, new games, scenarios, supplements, websites - the lot.

Everyone must use their own settings, their own starships, their own histories, their own political bodies, fill in any gaps themselves. There is no OTU. There is now only YTU (and of course MTU! )
Now every single thread can be prefaced with "IMTU..." and end with "YMMV" - in fact, thats also a new forum rule, internet wide for Traveller discussion.[/humour]

At least with a shared universe (like the OTU) there'd be something to discuss. Otherwise, people won't know eachothers' settings and won't have much to talk about beyond "that looks good" or "that looks bad".

ment for the OTU, titled "Canon - Conundrums and Contradictions".

The rumour has it that those who have been playing the OTU setting for
at least five years and who have taken part in at least five flame wars
