Alright When are

I'm abit of a cynic, i expect the next release of S&A to be the same old cods-wallop
Theres similar disquiet in the S.Troopers forum.
Hope i'm not being to pessimistic , as i'm actually in a good mood :D

Look at it this way, if you expect the normal response from MP, you will not be disappointed.

On the otherhand...., if we get some good news, then BONUS!! :D

Tough crowd here.

Well quite frankly, people have been given endless delays and slipped shipping dates. Wave 3 was meant so ship at the end of June, with eave 4 in the middle of july and wave 5 at the end of the month. Wave 4 has been pushed back to the end of August and wave 5 to september. While I'm sure Mongoose have a good reason for it (they cite improvements to the helicopters - and if nothing else I think the Lynx needs it), it's frustrating and annoying, and it's costing the game players.

Personally, I'm being patient - I want the minis, and I'm willing to wait for them (delays means I can fill gaps in my armies, and I'm on a tight budget!), but there's a lot of people who aren't as patient as i am. and at this point, they've every right to be frustrated.

i agree with this 100/100

i still wonder why they didn't release the non chopper stuff in order to keep up interest... or why they don't let Hiromoon release the rest of his cards so we can proxy some new, exciting stuff and try to keep interest in the game.

It seems like mongoose are using the profits from one wave to fuel later ones - going from some comments Matt and Old Bear have made they don't seem to even start the design process on the minis until roughly the time they're put on the upcoming product page.

I am waiting for the Minis also. I started to pick up the Game just for my d20 Modern gam, but after you have 10 copies of the basic rules I decided to play it a few times. I love the basic Mechanics of the game and are right now tring to concince some of our local 40k players to try them in there games But...
The slow relese date are killing it every were. I think the Mini Price is part of the problem, but the other one is the lack of Oficial Units. I you are trying to Impress 40k players you can not use Printed of the Computer "Un-Official" Rule. They want Good looking fresh from the factory Army Cards and List. That is why War Machine has started to take off. You can buy a pack of 20+ Faction Cards that have all the Basic Units for that Faction. I would be willing to pay a $1.00 a card.
Maybe if MGP could do that it would satisfy us, we could at least play the units with proxies wile waiting for the Offical Units.

I hope it's good news on Wednesday...

After seeing the absolute crap plastics Battlefront is churning out now I sold my flames of war armies and bailed out planning on getting my weekly tank fix from only BEVO now.

Please, PLEASE! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! Don't give us bad news.

Well, this is a good point you raise. However, look at it this way. We could produce models right now and satisfy those other people. But they are not the market we are going for - we are designing models for the discerning gamer, such as yourself :)

Not true - at least, not in the way you think. We have already started the design process on waves 6 and 7, and work has been done on models beyond even this. However, the initial design process is only one part of a very long chain.

Metal miniatures can be turned around in a very short space of time, as second edition CTA is currently proving. Once a final sculpt comes in, we can start producing production models within hours. It really is that fast.

Pre-painted plastics aren't :) Even once the final sculpt has been approved (itself a much longer process than for metals), we then have to work on the paint jobs. Moulds have to be made (by far the longest part of the process). Then masters are made. Everything up to that point has to be approved. _Then_ full production can begin. Production takes 2-3 weeks for a typical run (it is the painting that takes the time here), then everything has to be shipped to the West.

Hours for metals can turn into 2-3 months (or longer) for pre-painted plastics. That is the reality of it. Can you work around this? Yes. Why has it not happened yet? Well, wait for S&P next month - it goes into enough detail to explain exactly what is happening and why.

Just as a sneak peak kinda thing, I'm curious...

Do you feel the S&P announcements vis-a-vis the Evolution lines will be...
  • Recieved with glad hearts by most all (My hope)
  • Recieved with mixed emotions, some very happy, some confused and upset
  • Or will a few folks be highly upset and most of the masses frustrated

BTW, welcome to the "Spot." Sorry to have put you on it, but I have been on it for weeks out here on the sharp end of the stick. The players are becoming a harder and harder sell for the Evo line when they see nothing new coming out, and the forums full of complaints about the release schedule of new minis and the SST not even getting preview hype yet.

Seriously? On these forums, you will see all three on Wednesday. Some will get exactly what we are trying to do. Most will fall in the middle ground. Some will use it as proof that the world is ending, that we are all idiots and, gosh-dammit, the Evo lines cannot possibly survive.

They will. There are always possibilities, as the Man once said.

A: 1 to 2 months of delay max (for the helos. the other stuff can come out on time from here on out..... ;) )
B: oh noes the delays :(
C: people leaving due to helos.

Pretty much what I figured. Unfortunately for me, I'll be working a 12 hour shift on Wednesday, and all the grapeshot will have been expended by the time I get to see it, hehe. Maybe, it's more fortunately than unfortunately.

I personally feel I'll be in the "A" category. I was just curious what your degree of confidence in us, the end-consumer was. I'm glad to hear you don't have the same unrealistic expectations of us; that many of us appear to have in you folks.

Having said that, I must run don my asbestos "fan-boy" undies before my roasting.

id quite like the world to end !!!! if so i think il go out and max my credit cards :D

serously though, why if the helicopters are causing a delay didnt the other stuff get produced ? as we could have had pla snipers by now :D

ps keep the delays up, its funding my new airsoft obsession :D

Whatever happens i hope everything will still be prepainted and that the big thing is that its going to be unassembeled and unpainted. Lol seriously pre painted is so nice to have.
