All the PC's in Judge Dredd, Judges?

Junior

Mongoose
That was interesting, that all the PC's in Judge Dredd RPG are Judges, I think it would have been fascinating to play as Perps or such. I dunno maybe I'm just eager to see the new version of Gangs of Megacity One.

There are possibilities beyond judges for workable PC's. One could even put in some of the regular Traveller careers. Judge's Handbook expands the options for Judge's but of course doesn't add any non judge careers. But no reason to wait on Mongoose Publishing if you want to add more career options you could.

So Army, or Marine for Block Militia, Scoundrel for lots of other careers, Agent for some select type careers. but for the really colorful career types like a Fatty it would be cool to have its own Events/Mishap table. :)

Or even outside of Mega City One could have a racer career in Democracy Falls.

It would still be nice if the Cursed Earth had its own Event/Mishap tables for PC's if not flat out have Perp Careers, and other slightly more legal careers.

Ever since Mongoose announced that the new Dredd would be using Traveller, I've been excited to see how citizens might be done.

For me, given the nature of crazes and lack of regular employment in MC1 (and the terrible dangers of the city), a whole book on rolling up citizens would be a treat.

Following the standard Traveller model, you'd have cits attempting to enter different 'careers' (eg. Fatty, gang member, Wrecker, alien pet enthusiast, Citi-Def member, etc...) with 'enlistment' rolls, with separate event/mishap tables for each possible career. Lots of room for follow-up articles in S&P to cover those minority interests, too.

You could have 'Big Meg Citizen' as the equivalent of the automatic qualification of 'Drifter', with Event and Mishap tables for them being based on the particular time period of that term.

eg. you work out that your character's third term takes place from 2100-2104.. she's failed to 'enlist' as a SkySurfer, so is stuck as a Big Meg Citizen for that term. She looks up the Time Period Mishap and Event tables for that period (you could even have different survival rolls for different periods...), fails a survival roll, and rolls a Mishap like "Your block is destroyed in the Apocalypse War, but you manage to survive in a Displaced Persons Camp until your next term. Lose 2 Social Status, but gain +1 level to Streetwise".

I would be interested in seeing the block war mission ticket system.

I ran a fun citizen campaign set in MC2 some years back.
Ideas for none-judgepcs abound given the longevity of the source material ~
Cursed Earth Fans could try a Hell Trek group, or possibly the Cursed Earth Ranger auxilaries.
