All I Want Are The Dropships

There's a historical wargames miniature manufacturer that does something like this.

They're Eureka Miniatures. It's called the "Club 100" or something like that.

If you can get 100 or more people to plunk down a deposit they will make any figure you want (i.e. their sculptor will sculpt it, they'll produce it, you buy it).

Of course, they're made of pewter, so I'm sure the molds are much cheaper to produce, but if the molds for the drop ship are already made, I would think the same model could work.

Is there even an educated guess or ball park figure of what this adventure might ending running, total and individually?

No, no word from Matt yet.

I sincerely hope that the drop ships I've been waiting for, we've all been waiting for... for three years... are made available to us, the fans, the ones that bought the million bucks worth of Starship Troopers product. I hope Matt and Mongoose give us this.

I'm sure they will, they are just figuring out what all needs to be done.

Indeed. No promises, but I should know more by the end of next week.

*fingers crossed*

I really really want some dropships. I have 124 light mobile infantry with no ride.

Very very nice indeed - am now quite jealous!

Thanks :). I'm sad I didn't have the funds to go for the Skyhook studio model. In the film there was one that was next to washout lane and I had a spot set aside for it on my Camp Arthur Currie board.

Wow Bu! That is a nice setup.

That's about 3/4 of the board showing. I was eventually going to do an S&P writeup of the project. Here's a bit of a pull-back to the 1st board section. I had been using an Old Crow lander as a Skyhook proxy. There is a very tiny bit of its nose showing next to wash-out lane.

I also had been working on a 10mm version of SST that paralleled the ideas by Mongoose going to 6mm. I had ten Vikings made up to haul literally hundreds of 'little LAMIs' down to Klendathu. My Bug warriors were based upon using the head of the Mantis Assassin and the lower section of the Mite model. While I still plan on finishing that project, I had only assembled/painted about half of the 200+ "itty-bitty-bitey" warriors. For the Tankers and Plasmas I had already grabbed those Micro-machine toys due to the good sizing on them for the project.

Here's my Vikings (all are now done).

Good lord thats some amazing stuff!!! It would be a blast to play on that board.

Thanks Holden. The reason I dropped the pics here was to show how badly I wanted that Skyhook (getting packed about now for the lucky chap in Germany). Also, I wanted the TAC fighter and the Slingshot and the Viking and...

The idea for the "boot camp board" was as sort of a double entendre. It was meant to take to conventions to demo the game. It was literally a boot camp for teaching SST to new players. Obviously, they would have recognised it if they had seen the film. The other possible use for it would be to actually have the Bugs show up for battles. I'd be calling that scenario "This is no drill!". The recruits would be issued live ammo (thank goodness for the live fire range, eh?) to battle a raid on the training areas on Earth. In the televised series the Bugs did get to Earth, so it's not so out of reach. Hey at least the Bugs saved the MI the long commute to Klendathu.

Whats the little stickers on the back of the guys, ranks?

Oh man, I was actually getting into the story line of that last story arc on earth... get to the point where the army is forced of the planet, Dizzy and Rico might have a romance, and I go to put the next cd in... and no more!@!!!!

I'm planning on scratch building some of the air assets. I don't think it will be too too hard... (final last words). On top of that I've given up hope of ever finding any Exo Suit guys so I plan on scratch bulding some of those with mostly green stuff. My only issue there is I don't have many pictures of the models. Anyone on here have some good pictures from multiple angles of ones put together?

Holden, they're company/platoon/squad markings. "C41" would be C company, 4th platoon, 1st squad. It's a way to try to organise the minis when all of them are deployed on a table for command use.

I wouldn't give up looking for exosuit models though. I'd guess there are still online sources and eBay if you want them.
