Er...no. but you will get:

One city fully detailed (base of operations in the Adventures section) with one to two paragraphs description for each quarter, key locations highlighted and the favourite bars described; another mapped and general description of the city quarters comprising it (hometown of the Adventurers for the Adventures section); two more cities with low detail maps and description of a couple of paragraphs; almost all other cities on the map are mentioned somewhere in the text and most have a couple of specific lines so you know what sort of place it is.

All the key regions have their own section in the gazetteer chapters detailing what sort of people live there, why an adventurer would (or would not) venture into their lands, how you get there and what kind of reception you might meet with upon arrival. Of course there is also a table to tell you what Language, Culture and Regional Lore skills operate in each case.

But will it be playable without the maps?

It would be great if your book could beat the odds and "buck the Mongoose tradition", however all those hundreds of past releases....
