Prime images of sculptures for the board game "Age of Conan"
The emissary Stigia and the army of Iperborea are two examples of the quality of thumbnails that will be present in the game

The first images of sculptures created for the game Age of Conan are finally uncovered. In the game, whose output is expected in the next summer, each of the four kingdoms represented - Aquilonia, Turan, Stigia and Hyperborea - will have two different types of miniatures, a figure "emissary" and "military", with specific sculptures.
One of the sculptures has revealed that of the Stigia: the figure of a sorcerer, with a snake in his hand and a horse suitable land in hot desert from which it is. "We can imagine that uses cunning, magic and perfidy to increase power Stigia on Hyborian lands," said Roberto Di Meglio, one of the authors of the game, with Francis Nepitello and Marco Maggi.
The second image is a figure of Hyperborea Directorate, which dominates all other warriors of the other kingdoms, and is based on the designs created by Dark Horse Comics for the gigantic Gurnaki and brutal warriors. "The way Iperboreani were described in the most recent cycle of Conan comics is simply incredible - there are many interpretations made in the past about the true nature of this land and its inhabitants, and we decided that the one created in these stories is really the best, "says Di Meglio.
The original sculptures have about 18/20 cm high, but then will be processed through a process of pantografia that will reduce proportionately to influence an array of steel, which will be injected molten plastic to create small figures of about 25 mm in height -- similar measure to the thumbnails of the game of The War. Looking at how beautiful these are early figures, one can only imagine how incredibly detailed will these small masterpieces!
Age of Conan is a great strategic game based on stories of the famous hero created by RE Howard, and designed by the same team of The War of The (Nepitello, Maggi and Di Meglio). The most important kingdoms of Iboriana fight under the command of players, in a dispute for supremacy, using weapons, magic and gold, but the support or opposition of Conan the Barbarian, the greatest hero of his time, may determine victory or defeat of the players. The game will present a lot of miniatures, a large map of Iboriana and a rich components.

In the game, whose output is expected in the next summer
Are you trying to tell us there is no summer this year?thulsa said:In the game, whose output is expected in the next summer
So, does that mean it won't be in stores until summer 2009?

Quite stunning, though I don't recognize Conan using such a long battle axe.
In this case, you should tell yourself the next to come so that you don't make any mistake.thulsa said:As an aside, I guess the use of the word "next" confused me. At least where I come from, some people use "next" (Friday, for example) to mean "not the upcoming Friday, but the next Friday [after the upcoming one]". I'm against this use of the word ("next" should mean the "next", period), but I guess I have been influenced by other peoples' ambiguous use of the word. All right, I'm done ranting... !

And when you say to someone I see you next time, does this mean you have to see him/her twice? :wink:Padre said:Well, people usually say "this summer" if they mean 2008 and "next summer" if they mean 2009, at least where I live![]()

Thanks for the links as I hadn't seen any picture of the map. It is quite curious however, as if the designers had forced the kingdoms to fit in specific dimensions.MGBM said:If anyone wants to see how this game looks while it was being playtested, try this thread.
