[ACTA:SF] Want to confirm some of the stats for the BATS

I am looking at the stats for the BATS, and I wanted to confirm my impression.

The errata says to change the Drones in the rulebook to Variable. This yields the following variable mounts:

Variable T 2AD
Variable T 2AD
Variable T 1AD

Correct? Wow, 5 drones or 5 Photon could be pretty nasty, though a mix would be more "balanced".

Yeah, races like romulans and gorns don't use drones on their ships, so I figured they didnt want drones to be a default for their battle stations.

What's really tricky is the plasma torpedo options. It says to add plasma torpedo D to the rom/gorn options, so can they choose to have either a plasma F or a plasma D for the variable mount?

FOr the plasma races I would suggest the 2AD slots are Fs and the 1AD is a D since it matches the AD of the torps.

All the civilian and base stuff is pretty much 'extras for scenarios' rather than hard stats so far as I see as the stats themselves are a bit 'what feels right' in the conversion pattern rather than a fixed conversion equation.

So that allows a certain amount of scope in setting the things up.

I'd be more include to say that the '2AD' slots could mount G/S types at the cost of BOTH die - i know that this actually appears to increases the AD availible (though it doesn't if you mount 2 'F' type), but follows 'SFB/FC' in regards mounting Plasma and that the 1AD mount only 'D racks' or 'F' Plasma's only. The limited range and 'energy bleed' would provide balance for these, especially as your an immobile platform.

Using the above as an example, a Gorn BS could have standard mounts + 2 'S' type Plasma launchers (4AD each) and a 'D rack'. That not overpowered for a BS - that's around Heavy Destroyer Level Plasma loadout - not really that frightening (Feds can have 5 Photon, or 5 Drone Racks).
