[ACTA:SF] (Poll) What are your favorite Empire(s) to play?

I'm in the process of trying to come up with some ideas for scenarios for publication, and I was curious as to how many people play the various Empires. I don't want to get in the rut of creating scenarios that are mainly Federation vs Klingon or Gorn vs Romulan. So I thought it might be useful to see what everyone owns and plays with.

While generic scenarios are fine, there are times when one with defined sides can be more interesting as well as "historical" or "semi-historical". I am getting ready to run at conventions a scenario inspired by a weird battle in my last Federation and Empire game. I have had to change it due to the inability to field many of the units involved, but it still makes for an un-ordinary tactical challenge.

I'm currently concentrating on Feds and Gorn, although I may have to work on my Klingons after that.

Well the results are about as I figured, though I think that some of the low votes for the Kzinti or Gorn could be that they haven't been out as long as the Feds/Klingons. As for the Roms, I have no idea no idea why they aren't liked as much. I have some Roms and will be getting more, but more as a they're the natural enemy of the Gorns thing rather than my liking them alot.

gorns are my favorite race in the 2500, after i'm done i will move on to building a romulan fleet.

Gorn primary (when they get painted). Tend to play Klingon, but have a reasonable Orion fleet (9 ships, 4 painted (500pt fleet) and includes an OK6, which needs painting too)

I made most of the scenarios I've submitted so far generic to avoid players feeling left out, I wouldn't hesitate to do whatever the ACTA equivalent of SFB SG scenarios is.

The Feds are always my first choice but I enjoy playing the Kzinti fleet quite a bit as well.

From the rumors i've heard, the lyrans are supposed to be in the first expansion to ACTA:SF

Sorry guys, I had forgotten to add the Orions to the list. When I did so, it reset everyone's votes.

Still, I recall roughly what they were, and the results weren't surprising.

Mostly stick with the 'big three' as people recognise them without being told, and add Gorn because every game needs more unconvincing rubber dinosaurs.

Hullo,

I picked Romulans and Gorn. Currently working on building up the ROmulans and the Gorn are earmarked as my next fleet.

Nice thing about the Romulans is that (in terms of minis) there is quite a bit of variety in the fleet. You can do the "old style" fleet based around the Warbird spaceframe, the "new style" fleet based around the Hawk spaceframe, or a Klingon-style fleet. Really makes the faction interesting...

I plan on doing the 4 "core" fleets: Feddies, Romulans, Klingons, Gorn. Will probably never do Kzinti, mainly because I have a thing against anthropomorphic cat people. Less bothered by anthropomorphic lizard people...

Might do Tholians as a "small" fleet someday. Orions don't light my fire much...
