[ACTA-SF] Destruction of Shuttles

As far as I can tell, the safest place to be on a ship is sitting in a shuttle that stays in the shuttle bay. After the shuttle is launched it is easy to kill, but while it is in the bay it can't be harmed by anything short of the destruction of the ship carrying it.

Marines can be killed by Crew Crits and Traits can be lost to Crits or Crippling, but I don't see anything that affects Craft.

At the moment it is not a big deal, but it might become important when Carriers loaded with fighters start appearing in the game.

Well carriers are likely well down the line - ACtA is following the development pattern of Federation COmmander more than the pattern of SFB, and fighters are well down the line there (annoying for Hydran afficianados like me, of course).

At the point fighers come in, then expect either a crit table, a crit substitute, or a trait system that may damage fighters - or it might just be ignored, frankly if you are loaded enough with fighters that you are taking the ACtA equivalent of a hit on aloaded shuttle box when running a carrier then you are doing something very wrong.

Shuttles in ACtA are pure transports not anything combat oriented anyway - so tracking them is fairly minor. Either you are not using them or they will be out. So yes its a hole in the rules but it is one that I see having very limited effect on the game.

Not quite true as suicide shuttles are important against Romulans

Previously ACTA has not had damage effecting carried fighters - only carried ships could be lost due to traits being destroyed (Huge Hangers). What can happen is the traits that help launch mutiple fighters being lost to criticals/ crippling - so Carrier / Fleet carrier.

Yes suicides v Roms is commented on frequently but I would consider that to fall in my 'limited effect on the game' spectrum - Im not saying no effect note - just limited and so is a balance of complexity of rules in a fast play game vs impact on the gameplay situation here.

For me carriers is where you may need to step up and make some changes....
