We should all be getting it by the end of the week. :D

Or maybe Busty is in the UK in which case where? ;)
Gencon UK was 2-3 weeks ago now. Seems Azza had it a couple of weeks ago in Australia, indicating that it was at least printed then. Mongoose were there so maybe it was on sale. I didn't even go into the tent so couldn't tell you for sure of course :)

Mongoose possibly had the book in stock for some time but wanted to release it for the Open Day. They probably only sent in advance the books directly ordered at them and that's why lucky Australia got it before everyone else.

Its still all speculation though isn't it? Mongoose are keeping pretty schtum on the subject LOL :) I'm not miffed that others got it before release, I'm happy that mine has been posted from Infinitygames today. I just got the email so hopefully I will have it tomorrow sometime. YAY!

Yes, I did mean GenCon UK...but then I thought the dates would have given that one away :D

And yes, I did see them at GenCon UK 2-3 weeks ago, admittedly I didn't look for them on anyone other than Mongoose's stand, so they could have just brought them along as a special.

It is definately out.
The games shop I used to work for in Ipswich, Suffolk (Central City Comics) had it delivered earlier this week. They order from Hobby Games Distributors, so presumably most shops in the UK should have access to it by now as Hobby Games supplies a lot of the retailers across the UK.

Could someone who has the book tell me which sorcery styles get new spells?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean here...
In the main part the book is a scenario and sourcebook for the picts. There are some details for Pict Shamen but that is all the magical content that I remember seeing in it without going back to check.

Across the Thunder River has arrived in Arizona as of 11/10/04. I picked mine up and am thus far impressed with the content. While the price is steepish for 185 or so pages, the material I've looked over thus far is quite well done. Kudos to Mongoose for another good job (typos and editing missteps aside) :D .

Just got mine through today from Infinitygames in the UK. Looks pretty sweet, a heap of info on the subject matter and what looks like a nifty campaign section at the back too.

Made a special stop at my FLGS and picked up...nothing. Not in yet apparently. Curses! Mayhap tomorrow...

How's the 'campaign'? Is it for 1st level or higher?

Got mine today from my FLGS and it reads well and so far I am enjoying it.

It is intended for low-level characters, but can easily be scaled by increasing the number and/or toughness of the opponents. The storyline should be usable across more or less all levels of play.

There are spells *nods* but they are designed for Pict Shamen and probably won't be any use for other characters.

There are 6 new spells, but only one of them actually requires you to be a Pict. I agree, though, that the flavor of these spells is best suited for Picts (and possibly Kushites/Black Kingdom tribes, who should also be able to use many of the drum/mask feats, etc. At least they will in my campaign...).

The Bag of Demons spell is a bit too skimpy on details for my taste, though... "When released, [the demons] slay everything standing"... Not only is this an incredibly potent spell, but what about range? Does it affect everyone within sight, or a number of feet/miles/etc; Does it affect the caster and his allies? Etc. etc. This lack of detail opens up a whole Bag of Questions (pun intended)... :)

Turim, you can go to http://www.emass-web.com/ and download the conan sheet. It shows all the spells from all supp's. The ones from thunder river are nothing special. In fact, surprisingly only the softback supp's for conan have been really good. ((scrolls of skelos, pirate isles)) the hardbacks have not been all that useful, such as road of kings((which contains broken feats btw)).

I wonder....Could you be sitting, riding, or laying down and not get affected?
