Maybe they found Drakhs to be anathema to their belief and got angered beyond reason by the Drakh attack on Earth? Humanity isn't likely only race with habit of losing sense :D Finland assaulting Soviet Union 1941 with idea of carving out grand Finland out of SU isn't exactly sensible course either(especially with state of Finnish army at that point) :D

Humans can do stupid thing if you anger them. Why couldn't Abbai?

It because of their religous beliefs.
Abbai worship all sentient life.
The Abbai live by 3 Laws, the 3 Laws Of Honraati.
The third of which is: Defend the Community. :)
With the Drakh attack on Earth, the Abbai moved to defend its allies/community.

Also it should be noted that the Abbai declared a Holy War on the Drakh!
 :D

the abbai care about peace and life but see the drakh as anathema (or however you spell it) to both of these so declare a holy war upon the drakh.

Jal, your mistaken about something...

The Abbai aren't pacifists, they are reluctant to take life. If they were pacifists they would not have an armed anything.

The Abbai fight defensive battles. But, much like some portions of the US today, they seen a threat that is so severe they believe no quarter can be given. Any means necessary to end the threat of a race willing to destroy entire civilizations must be used. If the drahk are willing to destroy one race that opposed their former masters, what is to stop them from doing it to all the races of the army of light.

When you consider what an utter failure the defensive measures taken at earth itself were (despite the destruction of the cloud) I can easily see where the Abbai have taken the regretable but necessary step of declaring an entire race anathema to life, to be extinguished at all costs.

Idealists are like that in a lot of ways (religious or otherwise). They think in extreme cases. If the Abbai go to war against a foe who stands for the destruction (with the demonstrated ability to accomplish their task) of everything you believe in...total war is the only answer.

i can easily see the Drazi and especially the Markab going that way... but the Abbai? :?

at the end of the day, they are an alien mind, how can you add Human ideals to that?
they had a Religious Jihad against the Drakh, it's pretty canon as it was B5 wars that JMS said was all right.

don`t remember the Abbai going holy on the Drakh.. whereabouts in the B5 wars fluff did it mention that?

i remember the Markab going that way on the Dilgar but that was a couple of wars previously.

the one thing I'd like to see the Abbai have is non-lethal weapons. Yes they have comms disruptors but something with the ability to knock out systems and do hull damage but no crew loss.
Now that would be fitting

The Brakiri Courami Dreadnought is an Armagedon ship? is real expensive..$39.95 . But looks better than the Space Brick.

it is a big ship and probably worth it. plus thats only £20 whereas the armageddon ships were £30 at time of release.
think you may find US prices have gone up due to the price of the dollar (and to stop us sneaky brits paying in dollars on the mongoose site through paypal).

I just hope the new Arm ships if/when re-sculpted are no more than £20!

with the Tashkat and Takata already, is the Corumai going to be worth it?
(I know people don't rate them, but the 8dice beam on the Tashkat is darn scary, even more so with the new beam mechanics!) I took out an Omega in one shot the first time I ever fired it using current rules.

if the corumai is anything like the 2e one then yes its definately going to be worth it. more firepower than a tashkat but more fragile and not as manouvrable.
