Abbai Dreadnought Upcoming Releases!

Y'know I actually don't mind this one. Aside from those yellow life preservers its a nice design.

Generally though, the new sculpts done by Mongoose look like they were done by sculptors with giant ogre hands because they all have that 'thick' style. Anyway good job!

Are they actually sculpted though? I know the Hurr Gunship was, but some of these other ships look a bit too much like CAD(computer aided design) models.

There's nothing wrong with computer design of miniatures --- it's just the matter of detail and avoiding flat shapes when unnecessary or incorrect that is important.

After all, what would the Abbai design a warship on? Perhaps, a computer ....

well Matt said the same sculptor was responsible for the over-sized Nolo'Tar and Kabrokta so it looks like they were

Really like this one...nice job.

Scale is good, detail level is acceptable and the design really fits with the majority of abbai designs (ignore the snowspeeder...look to milani bimith and the shyarie for a style ascetic and to a lesser degree the tiraca).

For those who need a more 3d design...well you can always buy some fins...=) Seriously it does have as much up/down as the milani/bimith/shyarie...

B5 was great that the ships were all so very 3D. The Minbari, the Vorlons, Shadows, ancients, Drakh, Soul-hunters - everything just looked like they were made for the 3D of space. Unfortunately many Mongoose miniatures, look like metal chits, just barely 3D. I'm sure they're just trying to make easy molds, but I'd prefer more complicated 3D ships.

But....where are the Drakh Carrier, Drakh Mothership, G'Vrahn, and Ka'Bin'Tak?

Is there anywhere where you can get counters for them from? I realise it takes a while to make the models ready for mass production, but there aren't any counters we can use in the mean time.

Personally I like the ship. But I do wonder if we are looking at the next (non space station) holder of the "most intercepter dice ever" award

I like the look of this, and from the fluff would be nice to see it with some decent armament too, more than just the typical short range weaponry most abbai ships are restricted too. Looks like S&P 45 is gonna be jam packed of stuff

for the drakh use this link:

http://www.savefile.com/files/726295

it has all sulfurdowns counters plus the RBax ones.

have also added the link to player resources too.

Thats a good point... Is the 2nd edition going to include counters or are we going to have by them as a separate item....... all very well for those off us with the old counters, but we we still be missing a lot of new ships. Plus new players to the game will have to buy both books and separate counters to start...seems a bit steep to me if they are gonna be seperate.... :(

Now this is much more like it :)

Things are starting to look up for new minis from the Mongeese :D

Im not a massive fan of the new brakkiri (though I do like the scout cruiser) but this, the redon Vree Command Saucer and the Bluestar have really raised my hopes now :)

Looking forward to the redone Arma ships and Drakh!

I still hate the Myrmidon though, just not very EA. I think Ill probably use FA scale Olympus for them in my fleet. Or maybe Tethys. We'll see.

It looks a little like a mix between a Bimith and a Nolo´Tar I think. But yeah, it´s cool! Nice level of detail, scale is fine, and I´d love to see the stats rather today than tomorrow.

Now, I wonder which stats will appear in next month´s S&P? With so many new releases in the line, I will have to do A LOT of printing over the next months... :D

Thumps up Mongoose, this is getting better and better!
