A Traveller Miniatures Game?!!

TrippyHippy

Emperor Mongoose
Yes, please! :D

Am I right to see that listed in upcoming releases, or did I just dream that?

Will it be based on ground combat or spacecraft?

Is there any option of buying a subscription to buying upcoming Traveller releases?

Tis all I want to know.....

Where did you see this?

D'oh.

I must learn to read - it is on the upcoming releases section - but when you click on the link to upcoming releases there is no mention of it...

I see it - main page, under the piccy, are 3 headers, under them, 3 lists. The third one, 'Upcoming releases' has Traveller Miniatures Game as the second item, but it's nowhere to be found when you click to the upcoming releases.

Someone is being naughty and such a tease!

Wondered when someone would spot that :)

A Traveller miniatures game is being seriously talked about right now. Can't say too much at the moment, but it will be a 2017 release (hopefully earlier rather than later in the year), involve plastics, be ground-based, and revolve around a very famous confrontation...

As there is a 'shed' load of miniature rules out there and many of them sci-fi versions. What is it that will make this a 'Traveller' set of rules? Any clue on scale? Many a question

All will be revealed in due course - but yes, there will be enough differences to separate this game (and make it 'Traveller') from all the other sci-fi games out there.

That was fast! I am curious. As long as my giant pile of either 15mm or 28mm get some use. Unique 'Travellerness' yep I'm curious.

I actually created a conversion of Traveller ships for Starmada. That could be a choice too. I must say A Call To Arms: Traveller could be possible if only as a basic set with the iconic adventure ships and a few others to round it otherwise the necessary number of possible miniatures would be enormous.

Now you have me curious about a ground combat game as I have all the older Traveller GCGs and a lot of the old minis including tons of those aslan and vargr 15mms.

Well scale is Obvious... 15mm otherwise it isn't Traveller..... :D

15mm is now too small for me to paint so I now do 25/28mm. Since I use the Banners Sector I am not really restricted to what figures I can use - as long as they look hard sci-fi. Though something to use as Aslan would be nice.

I would vote plastic ... d'oh! Just read what you wrote and you know that already! So do 25 mm please! With civilians to have bystanders!

"This is the Free Trader Beowulf, calling anyone ...
Mayday, Mayday ...
we are under attack ...
main drive is gone ...
turret number one not responding ...
Mayday ...
losing cabin pressure fast ...
calling anyone ...
please help ...
This is Free Trader Beowulf ...
Mayday .."

Probably the most famous confrontation in Traveller history would be this one, the inspiration for the original 'Snapshot' game. I think my money would be on an updated 'Snapshot-esque' game, perhaps expanded to more than just Beowulf boarding actions; more of a general Traveller skirmish game with at least one scenario dealing with the premise of the original game? I'd buy that. :D

Pardon for the necrophilia (and sorry if this has been answered elsewhere) but what is the status of the Traveller miniatures game?

Thanks!

To make it more "Traveller", it would be cool if there was a way to do a brief lifepath for one or two hero units per side. Like they each come with a sheet where you throw down four dice and checkoff results to get random bonuses or starting equipment. Oh, and minis including more than foot soldiers would be brilliant. I'd love to see civilians, scoundrels and even researchers and nobles.
