A Stupid Question about Paranoia

Mongoose
I am about to collect the Paranoia game and all its suplements (predominantly on pdf) and just come onto Mongooses website and everything seems to have gone.

Did my security clearance get revoked?

What is the DVD in this black book? Does that have all the old books on pdf or something? Is this new Black Book the new rules? Will the old pdfs (at the pdf shop) work with the new rules?

I have not got a clue what is going on (nothing new). Please somebody (with official computer security clearance) tell me what is going on.

The Black Missions black book is the limited edition of the new PARANOIA Troubleshooters rulebook. Troubleshooters is the unlimited edition of the same rulebook; it has a different cover and no CD-ROM. The limited edition's CD-ROM includes .PDFs of most of the support line from 2004-08, basically everything except the mission collections Flashbacks 1 and 2 and the equipment books STUFF 1 and 2. The new rulebook has the same rules as the 2004 edition with a few tweaks; all supplements from 2004-2008 will work seamlessly with the new rulebook.

Mongoose staff designer Gareth Hanrahan, who wrote the new rulebook, has addressed these questions and more on the official PARANOIA development blog. Citizen Aratos has posted a detailed review of Black Missions on the leading fan site, Paranoia-Live.net.

It uses a d20 in the game mechanics, but it is not D20 as per the WotC OGL. Instead, to succeed you must roll below your skill on a d20 with a margin of success calculated based on the difference between your roll and your skill.

You left out the bit where the GM can ignore the d20 completely if the result is boring :)
