A question of A Ex Royal Guard Officers new rank

Helping my GM Father with his idea for A Military Themed Campaign where The Pharaoh of Simok's sending out Mercenary Units to do Mercenary work in order to earn he money to pay Drinax to restore his fertility and want to know what rank would be appropriate for The Leader of A Mercenary Force of 4 small Companies of Regular Soldiers, 1 and a half large companies of Elite Soldiers and 1 very large platoon of assorted Armoured Support who used to be A Very Minor Brigadier in the personal guard of A Planets Ruler?. I'm sure it would be very senior major, but he and I want and value the opinions of our fellow Traveller GM's

Assuming that "Brigadier" is shorthand for "Brigadier [1-star] General," there's no reason why he wouldn't continue to call himself that. The force is a heavily reinforced battalion, bordering on two battalions, rather less than what a general ought to command; but you can write it off as the guy's ego.
