A modded "shadow" nemisis

Here's a photo of mine... Not very good quality, but the mottled patterns are hopefully visible. This is done by the "toothbrush" technique

Ok, finished the paint job. I went for a partial organic (hand painted) look, while the rest I just kinda experimented with.

what do you think? It is kinda nice painting something that isn't vorlon green/yellow

Wow! That does look impressive.

I do like Tom Clancy but I just really like the name, and Hunt for Red October is the best of the clancy movies.

you do you guys like the purple, I was a bit sceptical in the beginning but I like it now. It kind references a shadow molecular slicer beam.

how did the organic shadow texture turn out?

And novels, IMO... He's also easily my favorite character...

Purple? I thought it was red  I'd like it more if the stripe markings on hull were red too. Just my 2 cents though...

Question: If an EA ship is to be named Red October, what class should it be?

My first thought would be an Apollo class. IIRC wasn't the Red October basically a high tech nuclear missile platform?

Crap, thats what I should have named the Nemisis. Red October was a huge stealthy ship with a lot of fire power. Now I must go and repaint the name.

I like the idea of the Red October as an Apollo variant. Although it's by no means the largest in the fleet

Instead of renaming the nemesis, I'd suggest modding an Apollo with Shadow tech.

We'll need to add adaptive armor to the stats of course

oooh... I like that idea... All I did was upgun a strike Apollo. A shadowtech variant would be a fun war level ship. drop the rail guns and pulse cannons for slicer mini-beams, give it some self repair... weeeee

Problem with the conversion is that the Apollo hull is very slim. Gonna be tricky to make it look cool and not silly with oversized spikes... :?

Or maybe Da Boss has already done one?

If you cut the spikes at an angle and mount them on the top and bottom of the hull you might not have a problem.
