A little confused. Need help. XP or not XP?

I'm intruiged by Paranoia. I don't really know anything about the game but I was thinking of buying it because it looks an interesting read as much as anythinge else.

Here's my confusion. Which is the up to date rulebook? I find 'Paranoia XP' at some sites i.e Amazon and here at Mongoose the title is simply 'Paranoia'?

The "XP" suffix was dropped after the first two printings of the rulebook (legal hassles), but this didn't affect the game. The important thing is the corrections introduced after the first printing; all corrected printings are clearly designated as "Service Pack 1" on the front cover just under the PARANOIA logo.

Although, if you can find it in a shop, a copy labelled Paranoia XP, Service Pack One, would have to be the ultimate version for the collector.

I've ordered an XP hard back copy. I don't know which printing yet. But it was an excellent price from a little bookstore I've used before via Amazon.uk.

I expect it'll take about a week to arrive.

Incidently, I go to a gaming group every Thursday (currently playtesting Pathfinder RPG) and so last night I went and asked a couple of the guys if they have ever played Paranoia. Both of them burst out laughing and finally said 'Oh yeah' with nods of the head and big grins on their faces. One of the guys said its the only rule book he's ever read cover to cover - twice!

Woot! My copy of Paranoia arrived yesterday. Hardback copy 2005 3rd printing. No errata.

Now all I need do is find the time to start reading. 8)

You mean it had no errata or it's a Service PAck 1 copy that doesn't need erratta
