A Call to Arms Noob with questions: Centauri

Right. And I initially thought that such a thing would be a big, big problem, but I looked over the issue of S&P that featured ACTA scenarios and re-read Carrier Clash. It says that the ship must have two or more flights aboard it and not necessarily be a carrier. That means technically I can call an Octurion a carrier as it carriers four flights of Sentris. It also means that with it as a carrier, I can still field Balvarins and Centurions as they are lower in priority than the Octurion (if I read that particular arcticle correctly)

I'd have to check the exact wording to make sure the designated carrier isn't just the ship with the most fighters aboard, but yeah, it should be doable.

Also youd get TWO Balvarins to face that Morshin and that Id be MORE than happy to try. And one of them full of Raziks can match a Morshin fighter for fighter anyway (just not at actually attacking the other ship).

An often overlooked factor in the 'Sentris vs Raziks debate that should be considered as well by the way is that the Razik has weak weapons the Sentir doesnt meaning that the sentri can act as an interceptor dice if needed as well as its other roles)

As for Rutarians: The Rutarian is one of the best fighters in the game hands down, it has a better dogfight then nearl all other fighters in the game aside from other centauri, Minbari and ISA (theres a few others that can equal or beat them but MOST races fighters are simply outclassed), theyre about average speed for a fighter but its still more than adequate, they have excellent anti ship firepower (not the best but still very respectable!) and are very resilient to being shot at due to high hill and stealth. I don't however generally think its worth paying to upgrade carried fighters to them. I WOULD buy them independantly and I WOULD happily get the free ones that come with certain ships like the Dargan.

Form memory I seem to recall it was the highest priority ship on the table with at least 2 carried fighters? Not 100% sure though

It probably is, I just don't want to say for certain when my books are at home and I'm in work.

2. Balvarin is in the top ranks of the carrier stats, on par with both the Avenger and Morshin.

Oh? Wanna do a matchup with my Morshin and Nials?

Wow. David, Anla Shok' How cool.

The Balvarin and Morshin. Isn't that like Vorlons and Dilgar? The Centauri might have been dumb enough to ask the Shadows for help in re-asserting their dominance, but go against the Minbari? That honour is reserved for the EA

Wyrdmaster

Oh it would be a fair enough fight... two on one. Fair enough even with his crappy dice ;) He's a friend, I'll let him off easy. ;>

yup in carrier clash the ship only needs to carry 2 flights, we had a carrier clash between a Primus and A G'Quan once, great fun, the G'Quan won as a batsquad went wild onboard the primus... never all stop next to narn!!

The carrier is the only ship allowed to be a higher priority than the scenario. It doesn't have to be.
