Mongoose
Specifically, Mongoose should publish my board game. It just needs a little bit more playtesting before it is ready to publish.

Mongoose should go for a 'FUTURE SPORT' Type game I reckon
I'm not thinking the very famous fantasy version of American Football by 'He Who Shall Not Be Named' but rather an all new game, perhaps an amalgamation of all those great late 70's sci-fi comics strips (Mean Arena et al), movies (Rollerball) etc.

Or, even better perhaps, an all new game made up of elements from all those old sources along with new angles thrown in for good measure.

Could be fun 8)

Considering the audience here the poll is a little biased, most (but not all) gamers have played board games at some point before they settle into their preferred game.

I am not following your logic, are you saying that gamers don't like to try new games? I am always looking to try out new boardgames.

No I was pointing out that just about everyone is going to answer yes to having fond memories of board games or enjoys playing them.

I don't know. Maybe some people just grow out of board games and move on to electronic ones. Perhaps the younger generations go straight to electronic games and skip board games altogether now.

Could be but its not my experience, I have been involved with the uni rpg society for about 7 years now and consistently the new people that come in have had some experience with board games before rpg's.

My feeling is that the scene has changed it's target audience from adolescents to adults. At least every time I visit the local board game shop (they sell no RPGs, miniatures or video games) all the patrons are young adults and only handful of kids looking at MtG cards.

Well, the youth market is already saturated in most countries. And only a few games manage to stick around long enough to gain a following. And those are the games parents are most likely to buy for their children.

I know what you mean. All the boardgame fans I know are adults.
