5 Point Raid Tourney

I have now played a coupel of 5 point Raid games with my Shadows and I am going for a 5 point Raid tourny on Saturday.

Options are:

(1) 5 Scouts (a bit boring really)

(2) 1 Hunter (Armageddon War profile) and 1 Scout

(3) 1 Shadow Ship (Sky Full Of Stars War profile) and 1 Scout

I am thinking about using the Shadow Ship for total fun value! However, I suspect this could be greeted with howls of "cheese"...

Surely it depends upon the tourney rules, they should stipulate which ruleset is in action.
Personally, I'd go with the even cheesier Tourney Hunters*2 and a scout. Heck if you can choose which stats you use, these were probably the best!

Well I had a game against the store owner yesterday and he says "anything goes" from any book!

So long as everyone's using the same book! You can't take a Shadow Ship in 5pt raid using Armageddon rules.

Actaully Alex, "anything goes" from "any book" doesn't mean they have to be the same book!

However the tourney stats are a PDF supplement, not an actual book so you may be a bit stuffed there

If tourney stats are allowed then the definite Shadow CHEESE fleet is two tourney Hunters + 1 tourney Scout....don't expect any sportsmanship points with this choice though!

...the only time I have *ever* won a torunament was with just such a cheese fleet...if I can win with that fleet ANYONE can

If "anything goes" from "any book" I may make sure my White Stars come from SFoS, carrying original Fleet Lists book Nials and taking Tournament list Sagittariuses as my ally :shock: :roll:

In all seriousness, it can't mean that, probably meant that whatever was latest and in print will be allowed (e.g. SFoS has the lists for Narn but Armageddon has the fleet lists for EA and Shadows...). I sincerely hope so anyway!

I have a limited selection of models (at the moment). I have 5 Scouts, 1 Hunter, 1 Shadow Cruiser and 6 fighter bases. Thats it, at least until I decide to do another fleet...

Well if youve got the up to date rules Id suggest that the tourney organiser means the most up to date version of anything from any book ie Armageddon shadows. If it DOES mean anything from any book then frankly thats totally Nuts (and Id take a Shadow ship from the ORIGINAL book (ACCURATE TRAIT :twisted: )
