4 Player Game

I'm getting ready to do a 4 player game, with two teams of two. One team will have a power suit Mi Platoon and a Light armor MI platoon, vs. a Bug horde and a Skinnie army lead by a brain bug. My first impulse is to let the two players on a team go at the same time much the way you would in fantasy, but I realized that because of reactions this would complicate this. So what have people done in the past/do you recomend? Each player on a team taking one full turn seperatly then the other two players going, or alternating between sides (i.e. MIPA player then Bug horde then MILA then Skinnie player)?

I'd say it depends on the size of the force. If it's less than 1500pts per player I'd say have each side go one at a time. If larger, alternate between sides.

Interesting thought: the former will allow players to better coordinate their actions, while the latter would better simulate the diffulties of such coordination in RL.

Garrr... turns out it will be a three person game, I will be playing both of the "bug" forces, with two players taking up the MI. I could still play the armies as different armies I suppose...

That's a good idea. Will give you some resiliency (lose a brain, only half your force goes wacky since the other is technically a Skinnie army). Especially if, as I said before, it's more than 1500 per side.

It's 4000 per side, but the teams aren't even 2000. I think the skinnies are 1000 and the bugs 3000, while the LAMI platoon is 1500 with the power suits being 2500. The guy playing the light armor is new so I didn't want to overload him on rules.

Game went well... Bugs got trounced, lost at -1200 and some odd points to 1000 and some odd points.... Stupid Heavinly Mercy drop boat taking away half my kills....

So is there any sugestions/president for doing a strait up three way game? How do you all sugest deployment and reactions (if player A's move triggers a reaction from players B and C who reacts first?)

deployment = roll off as usual
reactions = I'd do, closest to the enemy with ties resolved by deployment order.

But where would you do deployment? I'd like to make it so one person isn't "monkey in the middle." Maybe have to do the deployment with the four squares instead of table edges?

as close to a triangle as possible. If you can swing a 6'x6' board over the standard 4x6 it works a bit better.
