3I recommendations for the curious

So if youve been following me in the forums, you may know I run Traveller games based on randomly rolled subsectors and use just the Core. I also care little for 3I presence save the marking of amber and red zones by said Empire (I leave whether theyre good or evil and who runs it out of my games, they are a background plot device to justify widespread colonisation).

Anyway, I'm gaming with my gf who is a scifi fan and pretty sure she'll be wondering if Earth exists in my setting and how far away we are (I have said we are in the Milky Way galaxy in my games, but not where exactly  ).

So, with access to Travellermap.com, I found Terra and wondered about putting the 3I in my games. We wont be going to visit Terra, mainly because of the cost of berthing at an A-class starport.

The point of this new thread - We as a group can really afford a maximum of a Class C starport berthing price with the freight profits (we can only berth at a B-class if I roll a 1 for the berth cost multiplier).
I know there are alot of non-heretic gamers unlike myself here that play in the 3I setting, so can anyone recommend me a nice subsector area close to Sol/Terra that has Class C starports that can be J2 jumped between? :)

On TravellerMap I saw the planet Calgary (4 hexes below Prometheus, which is a J2 rightwards from Terra) and east of that was an area that seemed alright for a new setting for my freight-runners, but has anyone got any other ideas where I could go with a J2 ship with similar points?
Or maybe just a generally cool place to go freight-running in Terra's backyard?

Thanks to all who reply

I had a blast running in one version of Daibei, but I don't think it was the same version that travellermap uses, as Daibei is one of the lost sectors from back when someone generated all of them. The upshot is that, at various times, there have been as many as three versions of Daibei available.

The area we played in mostly was Orvon and Cruxway subsectors, Daibei. Not far from old Terra, and the Orvon and McKesson Clusters both look to have a good scattering of C and D ports.

Cool, I'll check them out in a bit.

I did a bit of research (read - looked through all the subsectors from Sol outwards til I found what I was looking for  ) and I think I might have found something ideal.

Its in the Alpha Crucis Sector, the Orichalc subsector and some of the worlds from the edges of the surrounding ones is an ideal setting for my games, near Sol (its the subsector above the Denebola, itself the second subsector to the right of Sol and sessions may also penetrate into Denebola).

So I have a nice subsector of C and below starports, in a Sector that is taking its independance from the Solomani Confederation, I have yet to check Traveller wikia, but I dont think it'll have the UWPs for the worlds within Orichalc.

Can anyone post or maybe pm me UWPs for the Orichalc subsector of the Alpha Crucis sector (its the one to the right of the Solomani Rim)?

Here you go:

However, I do not know whether these are "canonical" data, you should
check this if it is important for you.

OMG Thanks rust! :o

I noticed that each world has two UWPs, which one would be the one to use around the MGT 3I time? (I believe two years before the 3I Rebellion?)

Also, the numbers to the right I havent seen before (I only know MGT Trav rules, these look like something from another ruleset to me), any translation for them?

Once again, cheers rust, I can now give a bit more background to my games now (by cheekily placing my current random roll subsector at the edge of Orichalc, replacing a canon subsector - probably Arcturus -, I can get Orichalc's worlds into my games quicker  ).

IMTU I am god and can change entire subsectors of the galaxy to fit my vision!

The two UWPs are based on the TNE Virus wiping out everything.

The higher TL UWP is the Classic OTU UWP, when men were men and sheep were nervous.

The lower TL UWP (including those with a population of zero) are for post Virus where there are no men and the sheep are now cybernetic workers for their Viral overlord.

Depending on what kind of setting you are looking for, it is likely that you will want to use the better UWP.

You probably mean a stat block like this one:
TPPG AL Stellar
-521 Wi K3 IV M0 V
-421 Im
T = Travel Zone (here empty, so Green)
P = Population Multiplier (times UWP population size)
P = Number of Planetoid Belts (here 2)
G = Number of Gas Giants (here 1)

AL = Allegiance (here Wi = Wilds, after Virus, Im = Imperium, before)

Stellar = Stellar Classification (here a binary system with one K3 IV star
and one M0 V star)

This stat block is typical for the Traveller New Era version of Traveller.
For your setting I would recommend to use the second lines, the ones
with the "Im" allegiance in it.

Thanks alot rust

Looks like I'll have to assign trade codes for the worlds based on their UWPs (I'll be using the class imperium ones) and hope for the best, but as I said above, my players can always flit to adjacent subsectors if things work against the campaign (or in other words, the ability to make profit and keep things interesting).

I'm quite glad to push future gaming into a background setting, as for one thing the planets here are named, not given a code number based on their hex on the map  (one comment my gf gave was planets werent named in my map...)
