2nd edition OG1 system

I'm considering special ordering a few of the 2E books for my collection and possibly for by local gaming group. I'm curious about what the OG1 system is? Does anyone have a good review of it's highlights and mechanics?

It's OGL : Open Gaming License
An overview of the game mechanics can be found here. The Babylon 5 rulebook is based on the d20 system, with a few differences. If you familiar with other d20 games then you should pick the Babylon 5 rule changes up quickly. For example: skills have been simplified, some of the familiar d20 skills are merged in to a single skill.

The big difference between d20 and OGL is that with OGL you don't need the PHB, since all the rules are included.
