The only new core class in 2nd edition is the Temptress, which isn't exactly new, but at least now she's in the core book with the other classes.
I think for 'eastern-style' monks like you might find in Khitai, a soldier/scholar multiclass progression would be fine. You can vary the ratio of scholar to soldier depending on where you want your monk to lie on the scale of mystic to asskickery.
Other options include levels of barbarian for versalility and crimson mist fighting trance, levels of thief for acrobatic skill and the whole ninja stab-in-the-back thing, levels of pirate for... um... something, I'm sure. All told, there isn't much need for a new core class with the Conan free multiclassing rules.
