2nd Ed GOMC1

I have a sneaky suspicion that GOMC-1 will be redone with the BFE rules. All it will take is a supplement or two.

At least that is what I'm hoping for.

There's nothing wrong with GOMC-1 as it stands, but having something that will actually get supported is the goal.

We did Block Wars for an S&P article, using the original BF Evo rules.

Also worth pointing out that GoMC-1 was, in many ways, the genesis of BF Evo. . .

Hence my suspicion that GOMC-2 v2 will be a BFE suppliment. Core rules in BFE WaW with a suppliment or two to flesh out not only gang warfare but block wars as well. Best of both worlds in my opinion.

It was one of Mongoose's 'red headed step children'.

I disagree - Gangs was never going to be a 'frontline, releases every month' kind of game and, in the end, we supported it with far more specialists than we had originally intended. It was always meant to be a self-contained game, with a few supporting blisters, that players could easily collect a complete set of.

Well that explains a lot. I definitely think if this had been communicated at the beginning that a lot of GOMC-1 supporters wouldn't feel so "left out".

Knowing this, I can go on playing not expecting more and being disgruntled about it.

Does make total sense though, hindsight being 20/20 and all that.

@ Matt - I mean no offense, I was merely referring to the article in S&P Warganer #47, Page 63, where A:2089, GOMC-1 and Mighty Armies and BF:Evo were all cited as being smaller and less grand tryouts for entering new areas of production (colour hardbacks, plastic minis, metal minis and presumably prepainted minis respectively)

Well, that is all true - but it does not take away from what the games actually are.

With all this being said, Are we likely to see a Second ed / reprint / revised / BFevo'ed version of GOMC1 or is the original all that will ever be for the base rules ??

Indeed, you are correct there, i in no way meant to diss those games, heck, A:2089 is one of my favourite RPGs.

This game still sits high on our group's list of favourites (actually, like Illuminati, it's become one of those we often decide to play instead of some planned role-playing).

I'd love to see another edition, but look forward to the Strontium Dog and Traveller Dredd first. Meanwhile, I'm still coming up with rules for Boinging. nightmare guns, Alien gangs, etc, so we've plenty of novelties in our campaign.

My group has recently gotten in to playing GoMC1 (see my post trying to find some Kleggs in the forum) .. Luckily the base game + expansion has enough room in it for a lot of play.

What S&P has Block Wars ? I must have only been interested in aCTA when that came out?

......
Not to labour a point, but.... there does not seem to be an answer to the original question,,,,,

Are we likely to see another release of GOMC1 base rules in ANY shape ?
