and/or would you consider replacing two Strikehawks for a Solarhawk
Never, ever, EVER field a Solarhawk! Even if playing at Battle level, take 3 Strikehawks rather than a Solarhawk and 2 Strikehawks. They are just free VPs for your opponent. They die so easily, and they always get shot first because of their big gun and low hit points.

Considering Burger's statement I looked back at the Solarhawk and the Strikehawk/Warbird. Has the Solarhawk been removed from the Drazi fleets for 2nd Ed. or has it been rebalanced to allow some survivability?

I just started reading through the new stuff last night and this morning. There are changes to the Warbird/Strikehawk and the solarhawk.

I don't have an opinion yet as I am still working through the rules changes. There are significant changes to the fleet lists. Some ships went up in PL, others down. The Narn are pretty Nasty now.

Huh...had exactly the opposite reaction to Dave's...thought the Narn actually lost out in the flavor change.

Overall the really strong skirmish ships seem to have taken a bit of a hit across the board on defense.

Drazi got rebalanced almost the most of what I've seen. Squadrons of smaller ships actually do benefit from using several variants, and the the choices between the various hulls are much more even. That's just an initial impression, but it feels right.

It depends how you define defences. The Ka'toc is virtually unchanged. The Ka'tan doesn't have the same number of LPC AD, but still has the same hull and damage scores. The Thentus has less secondary fire power, but it isn't quite so feeble, but with better anti-fighter defences.

A fleet consisting primary of Ka'Tan is a force to be rekoned with. They shredded my EA Fleet to peaces the last time
