2E in PDF format?

Has there been any word? Will the 2E hardbacks also be available to purchase as PDF's? Hardbacks are nice but pdf's are just sooo much more convenient from me. Thanks.

I think the word was that they'#ll be rleeased about a month after the book's main release. That might just be a rumour though?

I'd like to see the PDFs as well. Bookmarks and searching are much nicer than paging through the book. I also like to play with a laptop handy, it reduces table clutter for me.

And my dirty little secret is that PDFs let me check the books out at work when I have a rules issue nagging me, a forums post to reply to or if I am bored and need an escape!

Maybe someone from Mongoose who hopefully will read this will advise if there is going to be a release on PDF & when.

I would much rather a PDF as I can reprint pages when I need to if any get damaged & with kids around that does happen sometimes. Plus when further books get released then it will hopefully be only a matter of moving or replacing pages with updated rules

I'd just like to see a fleet book before Gencon UK - Damn hard to run a 2nd Ed demo with no F**king ships!!! :x

A PDF version might lead to a decrease in sale of the Hardback version.. i'd hate for the game to slow in sales because of a PDF.. But on the flip side it might also increase sales due to the fact of a lower cost..

either way I can't wait for the books.

The PDF version would probably decrease sales of the Hardback version. It is very unlikely many would buy both but a PDF version may increase sales of game if PDF was lower cost plus advantage of lower costs to Mongoose.

A turn off buying the hardback version for me atm is a report on the quality of the printed version with respect to its binding especially - a PDF version would eliminate that problem

Yeah a PDF would solve the problem of shoddy book construction. Which is a problem for us consumers, as well as a hasle and expense for Mongoose to replace them all.

Does anyone have pics of the current condition these books are in.. Also i take it the UK already has the book released..?

I would definately purchase both. A PDF version for browsing at work would be wonderful, and the HC would be taken to the shop w/ me on game days.

Plus, with the access I have to a high-quality printer and nice, glossy paper, I could make "backups" of the Rulebook as needed if the craftmanship is really that shoddy.

i would see the advantage of doing that. but from a money making stand point at best just get a discount, or package it on cd-rom with that hardback for like $5 extra, and then they can lock or copyright the cd-rom..

I'm also not sure how they'd easily prove that you bought the hardcover.

However, as a planned buyer of the HC, I'm all for this idea!!

I´m not sure about how to prove that you bought the book either, apart from some sort of confirmation form from your store.

It was just a spontaneous idea - I have preordered my books anyway, so if I need anything on my pc for any reason, I can always scan it. Still, I believe that there would be situations when this might come in useful, like game mastering a multiplayer scenario or something like that (when people waving around hardcover books do little more that endanger those guys standing around them).

But then, I can live without the pdf Or the book, as long as I have either.

I have sent an email asking for an official response to whether or not a PDF version is going to be made available, what cost & when.
Hopefully we will know soon if it is or not

I have asked a repy be made both to my email & here in the forums

fingers crossed for a PDF version at a reasonable price & release date

I asked sales via sales@mongoosepublishing.com email address
I dont know anyone else to ask

I am hoping for a PDF partly due to shipping costs 20% for me & there isnt anyone near me who sells ACTA
