2500 and 2400 scale comparison!

Not really I hate to be so thick but I have never see models in this scale in person so I have no Idea how big they will be. I want to know what it will look like when I am painting and playing this game. I want to be able to make appropriate sized terrain for tables and space stations and orbital defense platforms and such things.

A quick answer, but maybe scoutdad can give you more information.

This was early on in the process, but SVC wrote over on the BBS: The Fed CA was 33mm across the saucer and now is 40mm.

Markdawg - About the size of the Micro Machine star trek toys. The 2400s were 1/3788 so that a FedCA was 3inches long. In the 2500 series the Fed CA should be about 3 3/4 inches long.

A bit larger than. I was hoping for a bit smaller to fit more game into a smaller area, but no problem for me. The detail is better and you get a little more ship for the $ so it all evens out.

Plus they will have a little more presence on the game table to entice new players

Given some of the really bad miscasts I received in the 2400 line anything better will be MUCH better. I dont think the lining will be any sort of issue after a couple of layers of paint and some wash they should provide some really nice extra detail.

Well the new ships are in resin, not pewter IIRC.

In the last year or so I got back into mini’s and have to say I really liked the change to 'plastic' as far as mini's go. Easier to work with and fewer issues than the same mini in metal. Just my opinion of course, but I see the 2500 line being superior to the previous ones for that reason alone.

Now I just need to get them in hand. I really would like to run some sessions at RustyCon 29. But Jan 20 is coming fast…. :(

IraShaine1972, if you bought those minis from ADB, Inc. and they were defective, then please let customer service know. We pride ourselves on making sure the customer is happy and if a defective mini got past us, we need to know.

It was nothing I couldn't fix and make get by but it was not something you wouldn't notice either. Given that the figs were not that expensive it really wasn't worth my time to bother. I really wasn't attempting to make a complaint just stating my experiences with the older line. There really isn't a line of miniatures I haven't come across where there wasn't a problem from time to time. Just some more than others.......
