Nice, very nice indeed.
A question... are the cargo bay doors flat to the dorsal surface or "set-in"? I ask, as if proud they would be a serious source of drag.

The Cargo doors are raised... hmmm bad design there.. maybe some faring or bezle them... or set them back like you say.. I think I might have raised them higher that the original design/image had them.

Any raised door would be a serious source of danger whilst transiting through an atmosphere to surface.

Which would account for the ships all looking like aircraft despite mach 20+ re-entry speeds since they would have no need to belly flop into the atmosphere and could fly as normal without any need to worry about friction between the plasma/ionisation shield and advanced hull materials.

Very nice design if I say so myself. Do you have the floor plans on a seperate sheet that we can fully see? I think it makes for a perfect cargo hauler just as it is.

I have generally imagined the two access corridors that run the length of the ship back to engineering are, in fact, each two decks. The lower corridor I imagine to be enclosed and proof against the vacuum of space when the cargo doors are open. The upper I imagine to be a gantry open to the cargo bay and a place where you could run booms and cranes and come alongs and whatnot over the cargo.
I think you’d almost certainly need a configuration of this sort to both access the cargo and to reach engineering in the event of a breach in the cargo hold.
These decks would be horribly cramped at 4-4.5 meters, especially with hull miters for aerodynamics. Or, possibly, one corridor is open to the cargo and the other is closed for access to engineering in the event the bay is open to space.
In Colin’s more generous architecture these corridors and catwalks would also be more generous, with room even for conduit and tanks.
A 6-meter high Thorez makes more sense, economically, as a freight hauler; but it displaces a much greater volume and is in fact a much more substantial starcraft in every way than the 4-meter version.
